RR, Ferrell called me earlier today, wants to ride on Sunday, have you spoke to him in the last few days ? May be we could hang with you guys on Sunday. My Buell is still in the shop, but there isn't anything the BMW can't handle. |

I may need a favor from a Houston BadWeBer with access to a digital camera... My cousin is interested in a CBR600 in Houston. The bike is allegedly somewhat special - but this is all conjecture at this point. We'd REALLY like it if someone could check out the bike and zap us some digital photos. If anyone's interested, ping me. I'll figure out some way of making it up to whoever... -Saro |

I'd love to go on that ride, but my scooter is sick. She can't seem to keep her battery charged. |

Jeff, same issure here. The new battery I bought crapped out in Galveston when I tried to get off the ferry. It seems it wasn't charging due to a dead voltage regulator. Once I got jumped, everything worked fine. I believe I got a total of 4 starts off the battery. I'm riding today, but I brought my battery tender with me so I can leave work. Like I said, I almost didn't make it to rescue you Friday from your dead battery. Looks like we're both s.o.l. Perhaps we should have tried jump starting you first before guessing it was just the battery's time. We could have used that 80 bucks for the CORRECT part. |

Yeah, but $80 was cheaper than a tow home. I wouldn't have wanted you to drive me all the way down here. Plus, though there was probably nothing wrong with my old battery, it is almost three years old. I wish my regulator was the failing part. Lots easier to change out. |

So what do you think the problem is? If you got home ok and all the electrical stuff was working properly, then I have to believe, your alternator/stator is ok. What else could it be? |

I was running off of the battery the whole way home. I have no AC output from my stator, and yet it isn't shorted to ground, and it isn't open. In fact, it reads dead center in the acceptable resistance range specified in the service manual. So I really have no idea. I hope when I take it apart something obvious will leap out at me (hopefully not my magnets though) |

Sunday ride! Leaving at 7:00 am from Luther's BBQ on I-10 at Gessner. I'll have the wife on the Road Thing, and we're hooking up with at least two other couples on dressers for a ride to the bakery in Bellville. Might be a slow ride for the Buell crowd, but we'll catch up while you finish your sweet rolls... For you Woodlands area guys, we'll probably be in Bellville a little after 8. (a.m., that is) r-t |

Kind of depends on how hot it is--usually before noon, though. Some of the guys may want to ride a longer loop. I'm hoping that some of the Woodlands boys (Roadrunr, B2M2, Rem, Trevor--you know who you are!) will meet us in Bellville, they'll probably be up for a long ride. See you tomorrow! r-t |

At least 1 Bueller from the Woodlands will make it for the Sunday ride to Newmans. Anyone interested can meet at the Exxon - Greenbridge and 242 at 7 am. Sunday. REM |

Yeah, it's back together. I want to go over all the bolts again to make sure they're torqued properly. I changed the steering head bearings too, and I want to make REAL sure I have my forks clamped on right. I may just head out there to give her a shakedown. What better time to break down than amongst a few fellow bikers? |
