Hey you two; Sitting in Vegas missing my Buell... I am gonna be down here 'till sometime in September, and then I have to figure out my electrical issues before my bike will run right. I really hope to ride when I get back; I have been eager to ride since I crashed. Talk to y'all later Josh |

Josh, I've been eager to ride since before I took my bike apart. Jerry aka Ferris will be passing through, I-70 to I-15 on the way to Vegas in early Sept. Yal wanna run point? The big canyon on the way to Vegas can be fun, remind me to tell you about passing the semi who was going 90+ through there I've suggested SR50 from Salina to Scipio as a quick Northern jaunt, seems like it has some cool scenery but it's been a while since I traveled that way, I'll have to run and check it out to make sure I'm not crazy. My brother-in-law is a game warden in Southern Utah, might try to convince Jerry to do some off road testing, sure we can find some good trails for the 12x with my bro's help... -Mike |

Josh, Crashed? We will be working on Mike's bike and getting it on the road. We can always help you if you need anything. Mike, Riding with F.B. will be a great time. The Orem to Evanston ride was a blast even with the 50 miles of rain on hwy 150. DBird |

DBird, Yeah on the 2nd of July I was riding near Mt. Shasta in Northern California I took a sharp left going about 40. About half way through a ground squirrel decided it wanted to be where I was going. I straightened up to avoid and ran out of road. As far over as I was leaned if I had hit it I would have gone down anyway and I was already dragging a peg so it was my only option left. As far as my problem: I am not getting any connectivity through my electrical system. I thought my battery was dead so I jumped it and it started fine. When I pulled the jump wires it went funky, as I throttled up it would go smooth then instead of going up the rpm's would drop and them the bike would cough and die. I think that either my grounding strap is loose/done or there is a break in the electrical wiring somewhere. Talk to yall later, Josh |

Well if I ride that far I'll be going down through the canton (Virgin River?) I was thinking of hooking up in Salinas, running north to Scipio then down I-15, have talked to Jerry, need to drive or ride it to make sure it is the route I was thinking of. Might drive down there this weekend, I'm off. I plan to take vacation for the Utah stretch and may go all the way to Vegas If I can get away form work. If not I'll still be along for a portion of the ride, I'll be on the graveyard shift in two weeks so I think I can pull it off. |

Mike, how 'bout we drop of the 70 at Joseph and take 89 south? if we're making good time on the day we could cut thru Zion to get to 15, if not we could cut over on 14 and pop out at Cedar City? FB |

Hey Dbird, The only part(s) that have made it in is the parts book. Kinda figured... I'mm off next weekend but you are out of town for the big rally, right? I think I'll get all the little stuff done and then start riding until I can tear it down for the isolators. Anyways, have a nice day. I have a final on Monday so I'm gonna try and get some studying done. I think I'll buy a tap kit and something to pull the shifter arm off down at the harbor freight. Sorry I didn't e-mail you sooner, just shut off the internet the other day, comcast wants $50 a month. I told them I can make too many peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for that kind of money. Using the library 'puters now. -Mike |

Jerry, I will probably peel off at Cedar City and head back home to SLC. I've got the next 2 weeks off of work for Sturgis and Riding the Rockies so, 2 days in Sept is all I want to take off. Where you staying in Grand Junction? On the way back from Riding the Rockies I will hit the LaQuinta. Any other motels you want checked out? Bird |

Bird, if you could scout out a place in Grand Junction, that'd be excellent. safe, secure parking for the bikes and within crawling distance to food and alcohol are important. we were just gonna make it up on the fly, since we'll be pulling into GJ on a Wednesday night and figured finding a room shouldn't be an issue, but having a designated rendezvous point in advance would be very nice. thanks for the help! ps: unless someone presents me a compelling case why the following ride route sucks hard, on Thu Sept 8th EARLY we'll depart Grand Junction, CO to the west on I-70, then take 24, 12, 89 and 14 to Cedar City, UT. at Cedar City we'll jump on I-15 south towards Vegas, and if time permits (iffy, we'll have to decide on the fly) we'll dip into Valley of Fire SP in Nevada and scorch Mouse's Tank (the world's longest BattleTrax course) a couple of times. Just dropping in, Jerry, route sounds good to me, would love to try a battletrax course. Last time I crossed the nation I found motel 6 was to my satisfaction. Are you currently or considering using radios or other intercom. type devices during the ride? thinking of upgrading my equip and this would be as good an excuse as I can come up with. Dave, that would have been funny. I was there 'bout 2pm. Thought about going into Wright's but I have not cared for their service so I stay out. take care. |

FB, What price range? Who would think that Grand Junction was susch an exclusive area? The LaQuinta is over $100 per night. I may end up paying that much coming back from the BRAG event but need some guidance for the FB Rides Again Road Tour. Bird |

Bird, i stayed in Fruita last September with my buddy JB2 on the Out of Words ride, right next door to Grand Junction, maybe a little cheaper? anyway, anything under $100 a night works, and i'd be up for sharing a room with someone to help drive the per person cost down. remember, safety for the scoots, and within crawling distance to food and alcohol.
