Quote:Jim and I are meeting at Stu's place and heading out at 9:00AM. We will probably get through the border at 9:30 if there isn't too much traffic. Stu is in Millwaukee for the next few days so I don't know what his intentions are as far as a route go. I'm wondering if we can be at Bob and Deb's by noon to hook up for the ride. Let me know if this is doable geographically. Thanks, Bib
Bib, Stu and Jim will have a much better route planned for you! You will love the ride down. By the way, that X1 that you are riding is responsible for the first wheelie on the U.S. side of the border, just tradition! I wish I could be there this year, just can't make it. Dave |

Greetings all! New to the board and wanted to say hello. Did the Volcano Raid and thanks to Mtrbkmike for telling me about the board. Met some new friends on the ride and had a great time. I know there are some others on the board here that were also on the ride. It will prob take me a while to get folks matched up w/aliases. Would like to join the ride Saturday and while due to Mike's "directions" (pointing as we scooted by Woodland on our way home) I know where to meet, I don't recall what time (help!). It also means a Sprint among you (probably behind you). BTW, did my fave loop to Detroit Lake via hwy224, Willamette Natl Forest, and Breitenbush. Nary a soul on the road and a great day (except for the swarms of flying butterfly-like insects that were damn big and bled yellow....yuck). Got some good pictures too. Word of caution if you plan to stop at Detroit Lake; the park workers are strict on paying your admission fee. Anyway, thanks again to Mike. Regards, Eric |

Dave, I'd love to see one of the 140 kph wheelies that TL does so well. That could be a new tradition. Hopefully you can make it for Border Raid. Have fun on your honeymoon (some sacrifices have to be made!). Bib |

Hey everyone, I just got back from the kick off of the 100th anniversary for HD. All I can say is "wow" you Americans can sure throw a party. I'll tell you more when I get there. The new HD's are great, but Buell released the new XB9S Lightning. This bike is the closest thing you'll get to a dirt tracker for the street, and in true Buell fasion, it looks awsome. Bubba Blackwell showed her off in front of 5000 people and bit it. His show ended when he was sitting on the tank doing some killer stopies and went a bit toooo far. Bubba burst his bubble ending up with a broken arm. At least the bike did'nt get hurt cause it landed right on top of him. How embarrasing. Chris and Loni, it looks like Bib and Jim are confirmed on riding down, but I think we might have 2 or 3 more. I'll be on the Firebolt demo with a back pack, so by the time I see ya, I think my arms might be jellow. At least it's more comfortable than the S2 now with clip-ons and rear sets. Riding my own bike on long distance will stop the chance of ever havin kids. Can't wait to catch up with all you guys and try the new route, I'm sure we'll have a blast. The dirt sections are just fine with me, I know you guy's would'nt do it if it was'nt worth it. See ya around 5:00 at the lake on Friday. |

Chris, I'll bring down a few release forms for you and anyone else "I know" who would like a turn on the XB9R. I spoke with Eric over the past few days and he wishes he could make it. We recalled the time Ferris broke his toe on the first SPLASH kicking a rock off the road at 60mph. As far as I know John will be there, I'll check on Wednesday. Bob, last time I checked Loni was a lady, reach arounds are common courtesy for poo pirates. Galen, I broke three ribs when I smoked a Mercedes backing out of a driveway on my skateboard. One week later I was surfing at Westport. Then I broke them again lifting my toolbox up the stairs. Took about six months to recover, but I know you can do it. Try Motrin, them pills work great. See ya Friday night. |

Galen, I am truely going to miss seeing you. Get well quick as you can! Ray, Are you still cumin, I mean coming? Duane, Your not going to be there? Ray is bikeless in Tacoma. Lyle and I both have our bikes at Destination awaiting damage estimates so we can get on with the insurance companies. I’ve have been told "Gee, we were hoping to get the estimates done today but tomorrow for sure" everyday sense last Thursday. When the damage estimates are done we get to deal with the insurance co.'s paperwork and then the actual repair or replacement of the bikes. I still think Lyle's bike will be totaled and mine will be repaired, which means he'll have a bike before I do. Anyway Paul, to answer your question, no I won’t be coming. Thanks for asking though. I wish I were. |
