Sorry coolice if I haven't responded to the route and stuff, been so friggin' busy with work, it ain't even funny. But the good part is running around to customer's facilities this week on the bike I'll post a route that Toni planed out this evening. She said the roads are a bit littered with small branches and some gravel here and there from the recent rain storms. So we'll have to be careful. Lets meet at Hals at 11:00. Sound good? I emailed both Flickenger(CEO of Buell), and Bruce Champion(P&A manager at Buell), to see if they wanted to attend(They've both expressed an interest in riding with Brew City ). But haven't heard anything back yet... Hal's has some kinda party going on at the dealership tomorrow. Anyone goin'? Also, Hals speed shop has their open house on the weekend of the August 26th. Dyno drags again! Dyna, you and my Nephew on his Gixxer 1K should drag! |

I may show up. Tried to avoid Milwaukee this weekend since I didnt want to deal with any of the idiots riding to the rally deal. Had to pick up my grandson though & except for the huge amount of truck & car traffic on 894 headed north/west there was no congestion, I really didnt see squat for bikes either. Even Hals wasnt too busy. |

Two more weeks is no big deal. At least now I won't have to go to the Milwaukee Rally and put up with the BS Beer Guzzlers and all the Tramps on display throughout the venue. LOL |

I was there on Wednesday and picked up a 2002 M2 parts catalog on clearance! They had a few other Buell parts there too. Stay away from the WileyCo exhaust though, it's the old kind. One surprise was they had a few derby covers from the new sportster. They get $61 for those things new! I about choked considering the old one is only $25... |

I actually got out for a ride on Sunday as well!!! First time in weeks. I did about 200 miles. Went out towards Spring Green and back. Have you ever wondered how close those birds come to hitting the bike sometimes? I actually flinched on Sunday thinking one was going to hit me. I flinched felt nothing and kept riding. When we stopped to stretch and gas up, I noticed the smeared remains of the bird on my fairing.....what a mess. |

Klinger, I had one buzz right by my dad's head once while riding side by side. I found what was left of it in the spokes of my front rim at the next gas station. A year later we were riding and the bird buzzed me and landed in my dad's armpit at 65 mph. He had a jacket on thank goodness or that may have really hurt! Ever since I warned my wife to look out for falling poo she get nervous riding around birds... lol... |

(I would have said "hello" but I think that's trademarked/patented.) What time are you heading to Culver's? If I make it it will be in the car. Babysitting a 1.5yearold for a few days. Can't make a Thursday this week, are you all still on the 2nd Thursday schedule? Did Hal's get an X in yet? Reminds me of a joke I heard last week: A lawyer was visiting a few friends and one of them asked him how much he'd charge to answer three questions. The lawyer said $300. The friend said "$300?". The lawyer said "yes, and what is your third question". Anyway, gotta run, lurking on a different system where I can read but can't post or type from it for some reason. |

I'll be headin' out there around 7ish. Hope to see ya there. It should be a pretty good turnout... CJ, ya goin? Yup, we're still on the 2nd Thursday. schedule thingy... Hals didn't have an X as of Saturday. |

Steve, How was the turnout at Culver's? We ended up having to run up to Random Lake to prep an open house for this Sunday. I think the S2 carb is telling me it's time to fix it so I'm probably off it until I do. Plus the gas stains on the white frame by the carb keep making people tell me I need to wash the bike for some reason. Plus my pants smelled like gas all day Monday and Tuesday. And the M2 needs the front engine mount isolator changed since the rubber has a large split forming in it. Do you know those large washers on top of it cost about $35? Ouch. I think I'll re-use the old one and turn the new one into jewelry or something. This is just turning into one of those very low bike mileage years it seems. At least I got to ride in to work a few days this week. Hope you folks have a good meeting tonight. Maybe ask if they have any unopened bike crates in the back that they're not allowed to open up yet. (Probably not, but you might get an interesting look if you do.) And if you happen to see any older big twins in their inventory let me know, thanks. Mike (Lost in Space)

Mike, the turnout was pretty good. But there were more Aprilias than Buells there. Hals does have a nice 2000 EFI Road Glide for $12.5K IIRC. Not an "older" big twin though. |

More Aprilias than Buells? That's sad in a way considering the ratio of Buell to Aprilia dealers in the region here. I'll have to wander down to Hal's in the next few weeks and see what they've got getting dusty in the corners. |

I stopped in at Milwaukee Harley/Buell this afternoon on the way to run some errands. Asked for someone in sales. Salesguy comes up and introduces himself. I say hi and say I'm wondering when they'll get one of the new Buells in. He said they are dropping the Buell line and they only have one XB9S left for sale at a clearance price. So, no more Buells at Milwaukee Harley. Oh well. |

I ran in to someone two weeks ago at TWT that said he bought an '04 XB9S at House Of HD for $6800(demo bike with less than 200 miles on it), they threw a new rear tire on it, etc... They are also "dropping" Buell. (Message edited by Steve_mackay on August 12, 2005) |

So in the greater Milwaukee area (Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington, and Waukesha counties) we're down to Hal's and Suburban so far. That list might include Sheboygan county. I suspect the story isn't over yet as I suspect one more possibly sometime this season yet. Hopefully not, but who knows. On a different note I did finally find where a local Polaris/Victory dealership is. They're hidden away just off I-45 sort of barely northwest of West Bend. Might have to swing by there one of these day just to have a looksee and hear what sorts of rumors they have floating around. I wouldn't mind having a motardish secondary bike to clip around on locally. |
