Bike is still in pieces, I was up to Grand Teton HD/Buell, did a demo on a 12R, nice riding bike but I'll keep my modified M2 for now... Gonna have to rebuild the suspension though. They did not have any Blasts up there, I didn't have time to stop in their Pocatello location to check with them. Taking my tank, tail and windsrceen up to Ogden for paint this weekend. I'm still recovering from the carpal tunnel surgery I had in April, in a few more weeks I hope to hook up for some rides. I'm not sure I know which Highway is 150, is that the one that goes through Henna? If so I hope I can join you. -Mike |

Was going to post something similar tonight. Wife and I are having an = 'Us' day Saturday. Lets say Sunday 10:30 at H-D of SLC? I got a couple guys from up here = on base that will be joining us. We'll see how the weather pans out, plan on a couple east canyon runs = and I'll check the road conditions for Monte Sunday morning. If Monte is bad North Ogden maybe? I asked one of the guys I ride with and there isn't anything in that = little town on the other side of Monte. If you have any questions call me @ 776-6958. Talk to you later, |

Looks like we are going to have a very narrow window tomorrow from bout 11-2 so thinking Emigration, East, Trappers and North Ogden. I will keep an eye on the weather, but memorial day was my one 'get soaked to the bone' ride this year. |

Skies are clearing a bit! Isn't our luck that weekends have the rain? We could meet at Ruth's Diner in Emigration if you want to skip the drive down to H-D. Lori's got her ski bibs out and is raring to go. Any changes, give me a call @ 647-0189 Bird |

Rain ride again. Utah wather is kinda fickle. Ruth's Diner Mountains Sign warning about the roads ahead. It did not warn about the sheep, gravel, water or mud on almost every corner!

Nice pictures, I really like the sunset. I am glad the rain held off for the most part, hopefully it will clear up soon. Maybe we can plan something for the 4th of July weekend. Josh |

Hey all, I met a fellow Bueller today on base of all places, I was walking through a parking lot heard 'The Thump' somewhere behind me and knew it was a Buell. He works for the 419th up here and as a Firefighter in Park City. He rides an '02 X1, Clean looking bike too. On one of the other threads someone commented that "If two Buellers meet they will end up spending at least 20 minutes talking to each other." He only had a short hour for lunch but he stopped for about 20 just to talk. Talk to you all later, Josh |

Who would have guessed at the varied weather we had today? It was cool leaning into the wind around those semis. A "private" canyon to run until tired, higher speed runs, cloud bursts. The day was just complete! |

Howdy! Just got my manifold tool from Al (asb) today, I'll be getting the bike reassembled probably/hopefully by Sat, but can't pick up the body work til my days off, next tues-thurs. Also waitng for a couple parts from DaveS, hopefully this week too - X1 shifted and motor mount stuff. So... hopefully by the second weekend of july I can hook up with you guys for a ride... -Mike I suppose I should get a second bike, I always have something torn apart in the garage... |

Good to go Mike. 2nd week of July should be some nice mountain riding. Maybe Mt. Nebo, Alpine loop, Mirror Lake, hmmmmmm. I picked up a slow leak after last weekends ride. The Pirelli Syncs are either puncture magnets or Utah has some serious road debris. Still have to do my 10K service. DBird |

Dave, If you would like to help with the isolator job next week, if my parts arrive, you are more than welcome to. I'll be more than happy to offer food and drink. I'm off Tues through Thurs so will be home in the evenings... List of problems: 1- Painter says to ensure my paint doesn't bubble I shouldn't put fuel in the tank for a month. He had trouble finding my desired color he says, supposed to meet him in the morning - two and a half weeks he said, became a month. (Not much to be done for this but I still have my original tank, could make due (temp) if not for the following...) 2- Right hand isolator bad, replacement parts, well isolators anyway and front motor mount bolt on delayed order status (South Valley). A- Kelly is assuring me that I don't need to replace the hardware, I'll verify when I pull the old isolators. B- Didn't get the bolt for the front mount due to ordering from Appleton, but not DaveS. - I just thought they'd all be as good as him, I was wrong. 3- Intake back plate (brass) threads bunged up, I may be able to get the cover on if I am patient and persistent. But I'll have to fix it at some point so I can service th filter in the future. 4- X1 shifter kit in limbo, ordered back in June but supplier has not sent it out to Dave to send to me, he is waiting to hear back from them. Gonna put a "easy pull" kit in when I get the bike rolling, hands are still recovering strength from the surgery. (Still have stock shifter unit on so can make due here as well til the new stuff arrives.) I'll change out the fluids before I ride. Info in the KV is making me consider purchasing a new drive belt to install with the isolator job. I need to make up my mind since that part is probably not in stock either. Current belt is original with near 15K miles but would trust the more resilient ones a bit more, especially since welding on the sub frame last year caused some slight damage to the belt. I know none of the problems is a big deal but there are just more of these little things popping up each time I think I've made progress. You asked But seriously, if you have time and would be willing to help I'd appreciate a hand and the moral support of another Bueller. I'd like to look at your rear exhaust hanger set up sometime. What you have posted looks a lot cleaner than what Ronnie had suggested to me. -Mike |

Mike, I would love to help get your bike on the road. Item #1 Tank Let's slap the old tank on for now. Item #2 Isolator A-Do you have enough parts to make it work? B-If you need something and want to pay FedEx freight Stone Mtn Buell is usually stocked with parts. Item #3 Threads mucked up I have a tap & die set, we will chase them clean. Item #4 Shifter Kit & Easy Pull The Easy Pull can go on easily. Stay with stock shifter for now. Item #5 Belt change Really thing it needs replaced? I understand the tuber belts are good for a lot more miles. But if it is buggered check with Stone Mtn Buell for that part too. Item #6 Rear hanger. I think you are thinking of Josh and his tuber. Maybe he is back in town and can let you take a look. What tools do you not have for these jobs? I have a swingarm & headstock stand and torque wrenches. Do you have sufficent room to do the repairs? I do have garage space if needed. Give me a call @ 647-0189 and we can hammer details. David Bird |

Been reading up myself on the isolators, need to check my manual and see how it compares to the KV's description of the process, also looking at the service bulletin. Fingers crossed on the parts, I think South Valley is closed fir the holiday. Do you think UPS is open tomorrow? I've gotta get a wheel sent off for straightening... |

UPS should be running as Monday is not a National holiday. Did you order the upgraded isolators? All the KV articles point to new hardware with the upgraded isos. Old was hex, new is torx with a shoulder. Don't know your money situation but Daves or Stone Mtn. can fedex parts. Where's the wheel going? Got a service manual? Any other details that need sorted out before starting? Thanks, DBird (Message edited by dbird29 on July 24, 2005) |

Have service manual, wishing for parts books too, oh well on that. If anyone has parts in stock I'll be in business, that's the problem with the shifter though, wasn't in stock, have to wait for it to show before it can be sent to me. There's a fastener co. on 17th So. I got some grade nine hardware from previously, maybe they will have what I need on stock. I hear the iso bolts have a funky thread. Wheel is going to Michigan - Frame Straight Systems $130.00, they claim to be able to get things pretty darn straight. I'm running a white wheel now, want to put my black one back on and sell the white one, maybe I can recoupe the cost of fixing my original. I'll be riding a franken bike for a few weeks but at least I'll be rolling. -Mike |
