In case you haven't seen the post, Badwebber Lafayette Jenne, AKA "Buellistic" passed away yesterday (Thursday, March 10). Whatever it was happened suddenly as he was posting to Facebook earlier yesterday morning. If you look up in this thread a few posts, you can see he had recently advertised his beloved S3 (with MANY Lafayette modifications) for sale. I'm not sure why he decided to give up riding, but maybe he had a serious health issue.
Lafayette was instrumental in getting this group (SC Buell Riders) together. Some of you were at our first informal gathering over a couple of days in Columbia, SC about 8 years (?) ago. That was followed up with a meet in Charleston some time later and that eventually led to our yearly "Buells in the Alps" meet. He went out of his way to send e-mails and get us motivated to have a regular gathering.
Lafayette was quite a character (in the best possible sense of the word). He was a big help to any "Tuber" rider and to the Badweb community in general.

On a more positive note- I spotted a black Ulysses in the back of a black pickup truck on the "on" ramp from University Boulevard onto westbound I-26 yesterday afternoon about 2:30 PM.

^ Hi Russel, I had about given up on anyone checking in here.
How'd the rest of you make out in the hurricane? I was without power for ~49 hours; came back on this morning about 11:30 AM. No damage to house and no trees down; just a lot of small limbs. |

Welcome back to the fold, Matt! You and Don let me know if you guys plan a Lake Murray ride; I'm not too far away.
On the worrisome news front, apparently the Skyline Village Inn is for sale. A friend sent me a link to this ad on a "hotels and inns" for sale site a couple of weeks ago: https://www.innshopper.com/ViewListing.aspx?Listin gID=5156
I imagine it'll take a while to sell, and I also imagine they'll try to keep it operating if/when a new owner takes over, so hopefully it won't have any effect on BITA 9. Mike and Lynn have never indicated they were thinking of quitting with the place, but I can imagine a whole bunch of reasons they'd decide to sell it. Hopefully they're just ready to really retire; I know it's an awful lot of work to run that place. Hopefully the new owner will be as nice to deal with as Mike. |

Thanks Hugh! I'm hoping to make buell in the Alps finally although if I'm sent to Louisiana or Arkansas I'm not sure I will. On a crappier note I snapped the belt of the s1 yesterday |

Guys, Henry William’s daughter posted to Facebook yesterday that he’s in the hospital and has apparently been seriously sick. Say a prayer for him; sounds like he could use it. |

Note that Mike & Lynn have sold the hotel so it is now under new management. Mike says they are happy with the new owners so hopefully things will be as good as, if not better than years past. |
