We need input as to what people want to do this year just in case the mountain wont let us around her. Please, everyone take time to express your idea's. My 2cents, Bob |

I want to stay on two wheels and not take any rides in things that have four wheels, hang out with my friends and laugh my off. Since I am fairly new to all this stuff I don't really have any other route ideas but am game for just about anything. |

Ferris, no issues yet. But she is still smoking and building her lava dome. Bob, I'm for anyplace but that 32 mile stretch of gravel that Chuck led us through on the way back from Border Raid. How's about we switch mountains if necessary and head to Crater Lake and surrounds? Too far for our Canadian brethern? How about the Olympic peninsula? |

Bob, I am all for doing something different this year if the Mt. does not behave. Maybe a ride to the coast? Keeping Woodland our home base for 2 nights? We could always do a Saturday ride to the north west side of the Mt (Coldwater Ridge?). We need to narrow it down to a few places and go from there. Shotgun do you know the back roads to the coast from Longview? Just throwing out some ideas. I know that I am ready for the riding season and looking forward to seeing all of you! Maybe we all can do some research and come up with a plan during the Daytona Weekend. Loni |

It's an easy ride to the coast from longview. You can cross over to Oregon and go straight into Astoria. The road is mostly straight for the first half hour than twisty after that. The Washington side as I remember is pretty twisty all the way to the coast. Travel time about an hour. |

Loni, we could offer an awesome ride as an alternative. Cross over to Oregon at Longview, run the back roads like Apiary Road, out to Timber, back to Clatskanie for half a day, cross over on the ferry and run up the coast road to the Slug Capital of the World at Lake Quinalt Lodge. Easy ride back to Vancouver, Tacoma, or Portland from there. Awesome roads available for Awesome riders. |

Don't think I'll be able to get the time off from work seeing as I'll only have been there like two weeks at the time of Splash. Could be worng though, they arent expecting me till August I think. Will see, should know if I can take the time off the first part of July. Is it normally just a couple days? The 16-17th of July right? |

So will we be expecting you on Friday night here? I will be posting all the details on Hotels ect after this next weekend. Please stay tuned! Loni |

I really think you guys and gals will sort out a great route, but I seem to remember several roads leading off the SPLASH extended route that looked interesting. Are they roads that we could inter-twine into something cool? Just stay away from the 30 mile gravel road that Eric and Rocky mapped out last year! What about the Northern Oregon area? There have got to be good secondary routes through Oregon. Loni: There is a track day at Portland on Thursday July 14th. that I may be attending. That would leave me in the area all day Friday to help out at the BBQ. Would you like me to bring anything down with me? Cheers FunJimmy

Jimmy, I can't think of anything that you could bring right at the moment. Yes I could use some help. I have to get to the park early just to reserve our spot. When will you be traveling down? I know that you are staying at the Lakeside Friday and Saturday but do you need a place to crash for a few nights? (if you come down on Weds. you could stay at the house Weds night and Thurs) We are full at the house but the trailer is available until Friday night. Don't go spending $$ on food and motels when you have the Taylor Motel! Loni |

Loni That's very generous of you. I'll be driving down in the truck on Wednesday night and hadn't considered accommodations yet. I was probably going to camp or something, but would much prefer to enjoy the company of friends. I will be available all day Friday and would be able to secure the park site if required. All I have to do Friday is return the bike to street trim. Install signals, remove duct tape from lights and re & re wheels. Could do it at the park. Shotgun: Could be really risky. Anyone interested in the track day, check out. http://www.pssrtrack.com/ See ya all soon. FunJimmy |

Jimmy, You can stay at the house. Friday morning return the bike to street legal in the garage and then go to the park with me around noon. Once we get the place at the park you could go over and get settled into your room at the Lakeside. Bring your swim suit! No camping when you have the Taylor Motel! We are maybe 10 miles from the track. Loni |

Hi all. Does anyone know what the route or routes for SPLASH are, this year? Mt St Helens seems to be calm at the moment. Should we do the normal route? GreenEric just posted notice of a new Northwest Rides book that may give suggestions for alternate routes. What have you found Eric? Chat soon. FunJimmy |

3 weeks! Jimmy there has been some talk of doing the route reverse. Don't know for sure but I think I will print off maps just so people have "something" to get them around the Mt. back to the park. |

Hey, I like that reverse route idea! That would work well for us (we would be able to ride with you all longer) so if we're voting... |

Just a heads up, did a run up through Castle Rock to Johnston Ridge. Starting at Sedement Dam up to the Ecopark camp ground (5 miles or so) there is major road improvement taking place. Not sure I would call it an improvement, lose gravel in both lanes getting ready for oil. |
