That bearing you speak of was destroyed entirely. all but one of the ball bearings are MIA, Anton says it is a pretty big chunk missing from the case. I am going to drive down today and check it out I think. Ill take my camera. |

I have my eye on a 2003 Rc51...Funjimmy, what do you think about them? ill ask him in the canadian area as well where he is more likely to see it. Shotgun, there is an 200X aprilia rs50 with 350 miles on ebay right now located down in medford. The bid is at 2,600 right now, and she was saying 3k...wow that is spendy when others are able to pick them up for $1,400. Maybe I should have Bob negotiate my next bike deal..... |

Brandon Eric called to bring me up to speed on your Buell troubles. I’m really sorry to learn about all the frustrations and disappointment you must be feeling. Buells are so cool when all is well, but that isn’t very often. You had a really nice S1 too. You’ll get past it and be better off having experienced the Buell culture and all the great people that have come together as a result of it. Find yourself a good reliable scooter and get back on it! The RC51 is a great V-Twin sport bike. The engine is super strong, not quite like the new 1000cc inline fours, but awesome just the same. In 2002 Honda updated the RC51 from the SP1 to the SP2. With that the HP increased, weight dropped and frame geometry changed to quicken steering. This bike loves the twisties, with great handling and the torque of a 1000cc V-Twin. But remember, sport bikes aren’t known for comfort, so keep that in mind when selecting one. The NEW Triumph Speed Triple sure is cool. Awarded best in it’s class by Cycle World, and closest to the Buell S1 (except in reliability) than anything else too. If I didn’t own a Buell S1, I’d really give the Triumph a closer look. Your comment about posting in the Canadian forum, as I would probably see it there first is not quite accurate. I always go the Northwest forum first because that’s where my friends are! I just haven’t been lurking for quite a while. I also do better in person than on web sites too. That’s why SPLASH, Border Raid and any other ride are preferred. Having said that, you and Tracie really have to come for the Friday night SPLASH reception in Woodland it just has to be. I have two rooms booked at the Lakeside and with Harv and Stu MIA, one is available. Let me know. Really miss you all and can’t wait to see ya at SPLASH. Cheers FunJimmy |

Brandon. I'm thinking that you should ride Jim's bike for SPLASH. Jim can ride my Buell. And I'll hang out at the hot-tub and keep Tracy company. |

thanks for the post Jimmy, I did post something in the other thread so don't worry about posting a reply. The S1 was my dream bike, I spent way to much money on it for this to happen, I still cant believe it. It breaks my heart to think about breaking it down and selling it in parts, it seems so cold and lifeless. It will be a very sad day when I start the disassembly. Wish I knew someone with a motor I could put in it, I am just not into buying one, having it shipped, blah blah blah....I have been really looking at the 2004 XB9S's too, they look good, don't know about going with the 9 instead of spending the extra money on the 12... |

Here's an ad I saw on Craigs list down here for you minibike racers http://www.craigslist.com/sby/mcy/79321402.html there were a couple of RS 50's for decent prices, too. Here's another-but watch out as a lot of these early Derbi's were really 70's relabeled as 50's to get them inported. http://www.craigslist.com/pen/mcy/78863464.html (Message edited by firemanjim on June 19, 2005) |

Bettie is getting hot for SPLASH. It's' all she talks about lately. Splash splash this, splash splash that....sheesh... I'd' tell her to shut up allready, but that would be the end of the riding for a few weeks. And I like the riding! I really like the riding... And Ray2K, I pinned her up as a BadWebBike sooner, Galen |

Galen: Lyle thinks your pipe wrap is pretty cool. He's right too. He started wrapping the pipes at the bottom and wrapped both pipes together until half way up. We were looking at all of our old Buell pictures and found these two that we thought we'd share with all of you. Hope you enjoy them.

I may have a new motor yall...hehe, not for sure yet. Anyone here know if my force exhaust will fit on a 99 X1 motor? Sorry to anyone who wanted parts...lol...as soon as I know for sure this is going to happen I will post someone in the other area about the parts no longer being for sale. |

That's good to hear that you're back in the game. or will be soon. Yes. It will fit. The motors are all the same, externally. The differences in fitment are a result of different designs in the frame, not the engine. I've been keeping track of eBay prices on a number of parts, if you want to know what you can get for parting out the old engine. Ping me. |

So far all is looking good for getting this motor. It belong to Ryan at paradise HD. He had the 99 X1 for about a month before it was wrecked at pretty high speed. Everything looks to be ok, but I am going to have anton take a look before I buy it. He says the bike had 4,300 miles on it or close, when it happened. Good part is that the motor is all black...wohooo that will go along good. OK, so I dont like the X1 models so I never really payed attention to the motor, are those The good heads, or are they just lightning heads like mine? isnt that a 101HP bike??? |

Brandon I've been lurking and am stoked to hear that you may have things sorted out on your S1. You gotta get that hot mill installed and get your A$$ and Tracies (cute) tush down to Woodland. Don't forget I've got an extra room reserved at the lake. Let me know if you want it. Work like a dog dude. Cheers FunJimmy |
