Don't forget this Sat, May 21st is my second annual ride to the AMA GN FlatTrack races in Joliet. There's no Nascar stuff there this year so there should be plenty of tickets available at the race. Come on out and see some of the wildest racing on earth. As of now the weather looks great! We're closing the shop one hour early for the occasion, so it's kickstands up at 4:00pm here at the dealership. Be there or be square,, Sam |

Married life Aok. House taking up a lot of time. Stripping wood, landscaping, culivating my grape vines and raspberries. Wouldn't have much time for riding. That's for sure but I'm totally cool with it. Well, Bill works about 2 blocks from me and we used to jam together on the weekends but I haven't heard from him since last summer. Not a peep. |

I'm wondering, with the date conflict between Thursday's meeting and those going up to the homecoming should we reschedule this months dyno night to next month? Sam |

I just spoke with Sam regarding Thursday, 02 June 2005 meeting. Many chapter members plan to attend Homecoming and will not be around for the meeting. Therefore, the DYNO Runs are being rescheduled to the 07 July 2005 meeting. There will still be a meeting this Thursday, 6/2 but it is anticipated to be light. The weather should be good, so ride in if you can. Maybe we can have a short meeting and go for a ride??? See you tomorrow. |

It sure is a lot of fun. Minus the rain on Sat. everything was great. Really good to see more local interest in the event. Lets see if we can't find a few more for next year. Great to meet those of you I didn't know before. As Kirk mentioned above, plan a weekend ride and let everyone know. Paul |

hMMMMMM FROM MY OTHER BOARD Class Action Suit Filed Against Harley-Davidson In Federal Court By Dirck Edge According to a statement by the law firm of Lerach Coughlin, etc. published on their web site on May 25 2005, a class action lawsuit has been commenced on behalf of investors in Harley stock against Harley Davidson, Inc. in Federal Court in Wisconsin. The law firm refers to a disclosure by Harley-Davidson on April 13, 2005 that it would be forced to cut production of new 2005 motorcycles (as previously reported by MD) due to declining demand and increased inventories at its dealers. Here is an excerpt from the May 25 2005 statement by Lerach Coughlin. The entire statement can be found here. According to the complaint, during the Class Period, as defendants continued reporting quarter after quarter of “record” revenues and earnings, promising mid-teen earnings per share growth rates in fiscal 2005 and that Harley-Davidson would break the psychological barrier of shipping 400,000 new motorcycles by 2007, Harley-Davidson’s stock price traded at inflated levels, increasing to as high as $63.75 on July 14, 2004. During this same period, defendants caused Harley-Davidson to repurchase 10.6 million shares for $564 million in fiscal 2004 and another 2.9 million shares for over $175 million during the first quarter of 2005, further driving up the Company’s stock price. Meanwhile, the Company’s top officers and directors sold almost $92 million worth of their own shares, including the Company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer who sold over $50 million worth of Harley-Davidson stock himself. Then, on the April 13, 2005 disclosure, the Company’s stock price plummeted by 16.7% in a single trading session, or $9.84 per share, and would fall a total of 22% by April 15, 2005. Over $3.6 billion in market capitalization was erased. The complaint alleges that the true facts, which were known by each of the defendants but concealed from the investing public during the Class Period, were as follows: (a) demand for Harley-Davidson motorcycles was declining and the Company’s market share was shrinking; (b) the number of unsold 2004 and 2005 model year motorcycles in dealer inventories was growing exponentially; and (c) over-stocked inventories were running down the price dealers could obtain for new motorcycles. |

ALright -- here's the scoop -- Sunday, 26 June -- all day romp in the Kettle/Holy Hill area -- meet up at oh-dark-thirty at the Full Moon (just up the road from the late, lamented Highland House, slb to 142 or so, cut over to Chocolate Town (Burlington), and run through the kettle/Holy area up to Dundee, and then back who's in? |

OK Bomber, you're forcing me to come out of the woodwork (note: not closet). The Kettle romp sounds too good to pass up. I hope to get my bike fixed for the chapter track day (6/23) and Advanced Rider Training (6/25) and then Kettle romp (6/26). Already cleared these dates with the family and work, so half the battle is done. What the @#&%$ time is 0-dark-thirty? |
