Time wasn't an issue for me a couple of weeks ago. If the bolt on the caliper hadn't stripped I would already have my new tires on the bike and be ready to roll. I found the bolt at Kegel's in Rockford. Looks like a road trip tonight. |

Just called Kutter back and the parts came in this morning. I can pick the bike up after work and get it ready for the weekend. Thank you Buell for a quick turn around! |

Looks like you guys had a good time yesterday going to Dundee! I got a over 600 miles in between Saturday and Sunday. Not the warmest weather but bearable. The bike ran great. Did we get enough people signed up for the 25th and the deal with Bilansky???? |

Rode the Buell a little Sat. been workin on my Jeep and my son's Jeep, we now own 3 Jeeps, 1948,1990,1998. Can't believe he's drivin in July! Are you ridin with us Sun? For those of you that missed the "Buell Demo Days" at Hals, you missed a good time. The only bike I didn't get to ride in this group was the Vrod(not pictured). I just don't like forward controls. I went on 15 Demo rides, all but the last two had a minimum of 11 bikes in the group. |

Steve you should try a StreetRod, great bike, I rode one in Daytona. Also you ridin with Belle City group Sunday? I want to discuss some frame slider ideas with ya. I'll probaly do some demo rides this Sat at Starved Rock h-d/Buell open house, last year I led most of the day, only a few Buells to demo and I tried to get people on em all day, they all say too fast, ya right! Dang h-d mentality. |

Coolice, things are getting settled pretty good. They started the house last wednesday. My wife went and took pictures of them digging the hole! I am sure it will seem like it is taking forever now that things have started. Looking forward to Blackhawk on the 25th!!!! Just need to find a rear stand so I can remove my kick stand. I have a center stand but it is kind of a pain to use, for something like this. Glad to hear that the demo rides went well. I rode the Vrod at Kutter. Forward controls are definately something you need to get used too! I am too short for the stock Vrod foot control locations. I had trouble getting into 4th gear without reaching. Now the 12R, that I liked a lot! Put some S pegs on there and I would be set to go............now to convince the wife...... |

Don't need to remove the kickstand, just ZIP tie it up. My Brother has one of those fancy race-wire twistie things we could tie it up for ya also... |

Steve, Are you and Chris going to make it? Do we know how many from the club signed up to work with Bilansky? |

I'm still not sure. If they still have openings on Friday, and I have enough "play" cash, AND be able to get my S3 "race ready", yes, I'll be there. I'm pretty sure my brother IS signed up. I think Steve and Ron are also signed up. I *REALLY* want to go, considering Dan Bilanski will be there. |

Didnt care for the Street Rod at all. Rode one with Spidey when he was at Kutters & I was very disappointed in what felt to me was a lack of power as well as leg room. My knees felt like they were jammed up to my chin, I guess the bike is fine if you are 5'8" & I am almost positive a stock 12 will smoke that bike in the qtr mile. |

Thanks Dyna. It is moving along so far. We stopped by this weekend. The foundation is completely poured and insulated. Those from the club that were interested in the offer that Bilanksy(sp?) made, he will be there Wed. I was told that we just need to approach him to get things rolling. Who all is going? Should we try to pit together? I should be there right before 7 a.m. It is a nice short drive for me now!!! |

If you can get 5-10 people to sign up (and pay!) more than 30 days in advance, you may be able to strike a deal with Leon. From the website: Sport Riding 101 This course is designed to introduce new riders, re-entry riders, and novice track riders to “Sport Riding” in a non-threatening manner. You will refine your street riding skills while enjoying the challenge and exhilaration of the track. Emphasis will be placed on how to apply what you are learning on the track to the street. Learning will be self-paced with assistance being provided by knowledgeable rider coaches. This course can help prepare you for participation in other track days or just improve your street riding skills. I would suggest this course to any rider who is looking for the next step in getting comfortable riding their bike. Sport Riding 101 will make your first track experience a great one! You will learn: Track Safety Rules, Throttle Management, Basic Racing Line, Body Position, Cornering Class Size limited to 15 riders Student to Coach ratio 3 to 1 Cost $225 Some of us talked with Leon briefly yesterday, and he is all about getting people on the track and providing a good safe learning environment. Thanks for the link. Need to do some maint. on the bikes first. Need to get some pants second. All of a sudden it's looking like next year for this one. Bummer. (Guess I'll have to be careful this summer riding around without pants on.) Edit the above to "riding pants". |
