Didn't make it. I decided to go ride instead. I had a nice run with a friend from work on an FZ-1. Went Uvas rd ->Watsonville rd (152)-> rt 1 -> Soquel-San Jose Rd. -> Summit -> Bear Creek rd. -> rt. 9 s.. It ws so sweet. My Xb9 was hanging really well with the Fz too. Which felt sweet considering the Fz's 150hp. I did did swap bikes for a little while. And it sure felt like night and day. While the FZ was WAY more refined, I'd still miss the snarl of my Buell. I may do a similar run this weekend if anyone is interested. |

Well, my fork seal is totally blown out. I'm gonna have to get this fixed before another serious run. A friend recomended 'AfterShocks' in Palo alto. They're shock specialists that car tailor the suspension to my weight and riding stye. And they're way cheaper than the dealers. Has anyone heard of them before??? I hope to get it fixed soon and be back on the road |

Any good rides recently??? The weather sure has been good. I took a good run over rt.9 yesterday...saw an xb12s passed me going the other way in felton. I had my lady with me so I was going nice and slow for her. But with weather like we've had, i'm happy at any speed. |

I did go up north. Headed to Williams for a party. I decided to ride up there, and take the long route. Went up from Benicia, on up to Lake Berryessa to HWY 128. Then out to Hwy 505 for a short burst. I then took HWY 16 all the way out past Cash Creek, and out to HWY 20. Then HWY 20 to Williams. A lot of fast sweepers. Real fun. Actually had a guy on a Harley try to keep up with me! He was there for a little while, then I think he decided better against it!! I had fun. 123 miles of pleasure!! Better than riding 505 to 5 and on up!! That is a straight line! BORING! |

Greetings- I've had my Lightning for almost 3 months now. It's been amazing. I would love to hook-up with others in the area. I'm in Cupertino any takers? gS |

Probably get some of us together. You should check out American Sportbike Night. It's the first Monday of every month at the Pizza Hut in San Leandro. Check the link out. www.americansportbikenight.com (Message edited by Newxb9er on July 26, 2005) |

Glad to see a new Bueller locally. I'm out of riding for the next 3-6 months. Yes I got hit by a car, during rush hour traffic two weeks ago. A plate and 4 screws later, and I'm back to work. Unfortunately I just lost my summer ridding months. I'll be back though. My XB is a mess, but salvagable. No major fork/frame/swingarm damage. But the whole tail end of the Bike ripped right of. It's at a buddy's plce in Santa Cruz making it's own recovery. Hope to see some of you sooner than later...be safe Ilan |

Glad to see you're able to type! How did it happen if you don't mind telling the story again for the 100th time? Take care. Chris. |

No problem at all. I had just made a right off the hwy, and needed to get across to the left lane to make a turn. As the strait traffic had a green, and lots of SUV traffic I could not see the row of stopped cars waiting to make a left. As I was moving into the left lane a passing SUV ignored my turn and hand signal that I was moving over. By the time I got the space, made my move, I was heading right towards the rear of a truck waiting at that turn signal. It was all about the SUV that wouldn't let me in. By paying attention to that joker I lost sight of where I was actually headed. Distracted I did not see the line a cars before I was headed right towards them. Anyway, next it was...brake hard, swerve, and I went flying highside off the bike. I, not my bike, hit the car infront of me. After reflection I recognized that I had a lot of going against me there. It was the end of my work day, in heavy traffic, and not in an area I was familiar with. I wont be doing company business on my bike again. Although I got the workers comp., I'd rather just mess up one of our trucks than myself. Luckily I'll heal, as will my bike. I didn't have any frame/swingarm/fork damage, so I basically just have to bolt the bike back together. |
