Hey Welcome, I'm stationed at Lejeune, with a side trip here to the Iraqi desert. I also have a red 12R with a gold stripe. It's in storage while I'm over here. Man do I miss it, almost as much as my family. I left in Feb, not sure when I'll be back. Dave, ya'll show him Maple Hill, and carve a few for me. Ya'll take it easy. Hey guys, NESBA has track days at VIR on the May 14th, 15th, and 16th. Anybody interested in going? I haven't signed up yet, but all three dates still have slots available and I'm hoping to get to one of them. the 14th and 15th are both on the South course, the 16th is on the North course. My 999 riding brother-in-law wants to do the North course, but I'm not sure if I can get that Monday off since I already have the first week of May off from work. I haven't ruled out the 16th entirely, but the 14th or 15th would be easier for me. The 14th and 15th dates are $155 each, the 16th is $165. Nesba also offers "free" track days to anyone who hasn't done a track day with them, but it's only two sessions. The free slots are full for the 14th and 15th, but there's still room for two free sessions on the 16th. Anybody up for it? Mike Luddy, Jr. '04 XB12R |

Hello All, Sorry for my silence since we returned from our Adventure to T.W.O. It always seems to take so long to get caught up after coming back from a trip. The good news is that I have posted most of the pictures I took on the advneture in the 'Tale Section - C-3 Adventure 04/2005 T.W.O. Suches, GA' or for those who prefer not to navigate: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/6817/107765.html?1113355750 Black_sunshine, It was sure nice to meet and ride with some of the 3%ers! I sure hope we can do it again! I don't know if Glitch told you, but I call my S2 Black Sunshine after the White Zombie song. Brandy (Fbxb9r), It's great to see you starting to feed the addiction. Although it kinda sucks that I am not the only Buell in town anymore. I hope that you will be able to participate in some of the C-3 events. John (Yohinan), Welcome to you, as well! Jacksonville is not all that far from New Bern, so we could be able to hook up for some riding outside of the C-3 activities. But I sure hope you will be able to particpate in some of the C-3 activities as well. Well, I gotta cut it short, because I haven't even caught up on my badweb reading since I've been back! 1313 |

Hello, back from heavenly hill country. C3 will have to plan another trip to T.W.O. in Suches GA. It was a great place, run by a neat couple and the roads were unbelievable. A great kick in the pants. What a great surprise to find a couple more Buellers here out east. A big welcome to Brandy (fbxb9r) and John (Yohinan). I hope we can get together and ride some. We are planning to get together Sunday as a group for our monthly BRAG meeting. I would like to invite you both to join us at the meeting. We are planning a ride to Michael's for breakfast before the meeting. Michael's is a Bar & Grill in Chapel Hill and a local motorcyclist hang out. The place really fills up with all kinds of neat bikes. Since there are only three BRAG clubs in NC, we C3'ers have a pretty large area to cover. Shelton HD is our supporting dealer which has three stores right now from Durham to Goldsboro. The BRAG chapter itself is new so you will fit right in. We are trying to find everyone's comfort zone and really need to ride more together to get to know each other. Mike (Buellish) has two great rules that he repeats to everyone he rides with and I hope he doesn't mind that I will too from know on. 1 - Ride your own ride. Just because someone is leading the pack, does not mean you have to keep up or stay behind. Ride to where you are comfortable. 2 - You will not be left behind. If you fall back or run ahead, we will meet up at the next turn off. Two great rules to let the riders enjoy themselves with the group without having to worry they are holding up, or wait for anyone else. Like with any ride, sometimes its the corners or just the distance, if you can join us for some of the ride that is great. I would like to move events around to make it closer to everybody. So do not be discouraged if this weekend we go west from Goldsboro, because the best road so far we have found out east is not far from Jacksonville. I'm in for Sunday breakfast at Michael's. Since we seem to be adding in ranks (great!) where would everybody like to meet up on Sunday morning to head out to Chapel Hill? The dealership in Goldsboro works for me if everyone knows where it is. Those out west, wait for us at Michael's and if Jim feels up to it (How the boys, Jim?) maybe he can be our tour guide around Jordan Lake. As for the Brag Meeting, we have kicked it around to move the meeting to Shelton HD in Smithfield. It may be more family oriented, let the wife or husband shop at the outlet while we meet. I am totally flexible here but I need some consensus so I can plan with AydenXB9 for the meeting. So, who's interested in breakfast at Michael's? I am. Spike, I'm glad you posted about the track day. Maybe we can make it a C3 event. Kristi has added it to the agenda for Sunday's meeting. |

So is anyone from the Jacksonville/New Bern area heading out on this ride scheduled for Sunday? If so I wouldnt mind meeting up to ride to our scheduled meet at Michael's. For one I dont even know where that is or how to get there but I am overdue for a long, fun, twisty, and a little bit of a spirited ride. If so let me know and I can give you my phone number so we can work out the details. Only glitch I have right now is finding a sitter for the kids on Sunday. The wife will be in the MSF class all weekend working on getting her motorcycle endorsement. John |

John, If you can go, we can get you there. I live in Grifton, but if someone closer can not guide you in, we can meet somewhere you do know, and take off from there. Let's see if you can get the sitter situation straighten out, and if so we can come up with a meeting place, maybe Kinston. By the way, where is your wife taking the MSF course? Its not Lenior Community College is it? |

Carlos- If some of you guys are going to meet at the Goldsboro shop before the ride can you let me know what time? I don't know exactly how to get to Michael's either but I do know the shop. John- If everything works out for you you could meet up with me if you want here in New Bern at Hwy 70. |

How far west ya'll wanting to travel? Remember there is an open invitation to anybody traveling our direction. We got more than enough twisties to satisfy the need. About an hour and a half southwest of Micheal's. About a good 5-6 hour ride depending upon what you want could be spent in this area. Got plenty of space if anybody needs to rest a while before heading out, or just spend the night. JIM |

Hey Carlos, Thanks for asking, they are black and blue. But not as black and blue as they were. I'll be at Michaels on Sunday morning. I have to be back home by 1:00 pm, but I'll be glad to give you the tour if we leave by 12:00. It's on my way home. It will be good to see you all again. Let me know what time you're planning on getting there. |

Jim, gives new meaning to "blue..............aw, never mind. What we (meaning Carlos, 1313-Brankin, and I) do when we head to Michael's is meet at the Fuel Warehouse at the intersection of US 70 and Hwy's 11&55 in Kinston then scream west from there. The last time we went, it took us about 3 hours but we were slowed by fog and snot(long story). Meeting at Shelton's will work also if everyone is agreeable. Carlos, Brankin, about what time do you think would be best? I'm up for going but will have to leave directly from Michael's to get to the shop in time for work. Now the ride to Michael's isn't that exciting, but hopefully some of the western contingent will be good scouts and have some proper Buelling roads plotted. Sounds like Jim has a few to share. Also, there's those roads in Johnston Co. that Carlos and I spied on the county map that look like they could be promising. And let's not forget U4eh, he keeps extending the invitation, we should take him up on it soon. I'll personally bring it up at the meeting Sunday to see if we can't make it a ride to his neck of the woods. Lastly, who'd be interested in going to the CCS/Formula USA race at VIR at the end of June? Last year, Carlos, Mike, and a few others from Tilley's BRAG chapter had a GREAT time hanging out with Tripp Nobles and watching the races. It's a must do for me but what about making it a C^3 thing? Mike, I might be able to do the NESBA days on Sunday and Monday, have to see how my days off fall in May and if I can afford 2 new sets of tires and the cost of the days, place to stay, etc.......certainly want to do more track days, and I've really been wanting to do North course. I've only done Full course. Dave |

The CCS/FUSA race at VIR is a definite for me. Maybe I can even talk the wife into making it a weekend trip and camping out or something. As for NESBA, I'm still not certain about Monday. Sarah wanted to come with me to the track and she definitely won't be able to get Monday off from work. Then again, North course would be my first choice for track layout. I'll be at Michael's around 10:30am on Sunday, hopefully I'll see most of you there. Even if the weather is nasty I'll still probably show up there in the 3, I'll be installing a new rear swaybar on it tomorrow night and I'm sure I'll be looking for excuses to drive it this weekend. You know what, when I finally have a good idea of when I'm gonna be home (which is many months away), I'm gonna plan a ride. I'm tired of hearing and seeing everyone else have all the fun, and dangit I have to put up with it. Seriously, ya'll have fun and I AM gonna plan a ride somewhere. Ya'll take it easy, enjoy the rides and carve some for me. |

Robert (Southern), You're on! I'm out of vacation time until August and Jim and suggested going to the Maryland Brag event in October. I believe I'm going to that. I also want to take another ride to T.W.O. in the fall. I also want to make several rides to my father-in-law's place in the mountains of Virginia. So, when you get back, I'll ride with you. Be safe, see you soon. Okay, so we want to meet at the Fuel Warehouse between 7:30 and 8:00am, to make it to Michael's by 10:30? Sounds good to me. Does everyone out east know where in Kinston highway 11 & 70 insect? That is where the the Fuel Warehouse is. |

Mike, that would be great! We are rolling out of Kinston between 7:30 to 8:00am Sunday morning heading to Michael's, then to Jordan Lake, then back to Goldboro for our monthly Brag Meeting. If you want, we can meet you at the McDonald's in Clayton on Hwy70 and you can ride with use from there. I'm guessing it will take us around 1 hour from Kinston so we will meet you between 8:30 & 9am. Looking forward to meeting you. |

Jim (Jlnance): no problem about 1pm. We want to explore some roads on the way back to Goldsboro. I believe we are trying to get back to Goldsboro by 3pm so time wise it will be perfect. U4euh, I believe this weekend we will not be able to make it to Pinehurst. We have to plan a day that we leave straight from Goldsboro to Pinehurst. Michael's is really out of the way. I know that Dave and I have talked about it and we really want to make the run to Pinehurst. I've ridden to Rockingham and some of the roads between here and there are great. I hope we can make it soon. |

All right, now that I got the details finalized I can share them with everyone. Unfrotunately I will not be able to particpate in the group ride this time, but if everything works out I should have no problem making the meeting at Shelton's in Goldsboro. I am leaving work tomorrow at noon to pack for a weekend adventure planned by myself and a German colleague who will be going back to Germany for good very soon. He wants his last motorbike trip to be special, and I think we've succeeded. Friday night we will end up in Boone, NC. Saturday we will head through Asheville and if all the stars are in line we will make it to Deal's Gap and go back to Asheville for the night. Sunday we will be headed to Michael's, but it will definitely be after everyone has left there before we arrive. I had committed to this trip a long time ago so I couldn't back out, otherwise I would definitely be there to welcome all of our new recruits. To break things up a bit, I will be on my V-Rod, so please don't stone me when I show up at the BRAG meeting on something other than a Buell (or if I reek like I have been on the road for 2&1/2 days). Besides after the T.W.O. adventure Carlos and I did last week, I need to do some fine tuning to the trusty S2. A wise man once told me - Why do unnecessary damage by riding something that isn't exactly right. So I will take his advice and let the Buell rest a little. Besides, if I want to orchestrate turning 100,000 miles on the S2 at Homecoming this year I will have to let it rest quite a bit between now and Homecoming. Welcome to all the new recruits! I hope you all enjoy the ride and for the next meeting I will definitely be there (and on my Buell) to ride with you all. Mike (Norrisperformance), I was hoping I didn't have to send you a notification to join us since we are kind of in your backyard. I'm glad I didn't have to resort to such forms of internet harrassment. I look forward to meeting you on Sunday. Spike has put in a damn good word for you! Dave, Sorry I didn't call you back, but when you called we were hot and heavy in the planning of our trip. After we finished planning the trip it was off to the bar to celebrate our accomplishment and share our plans with some other colleagues who will attempt to meet up with us on our journey. At this point, the only confirmed riders are me on my V-Rod, my old German boss on his XL1200C and another German colleauge on his chromalusion painted chopper. As you can tell by the other bikes I will be riding with, you can tell a major reason I have decided to take the V-Rod (plus your advice weighed heavily in my decision too)! The other bikes that may attempt to meet up with us are an XL1200, an XL883 and an XL883R punched out to 1200. Looking forward to welcoming everyone! 1313 |

Well I confirmed finally that I found someone to watch the youngins Sunday. fbxb9r (Brandy) it looks like your the closest to me since your in New Bern. If your still going tomorrow let me know and we can meet up somewhere. The only thing I really know of in the New Bern area is where the Wal-Mart is and also the Texas steakhouse. Hopefully you know the way to our destination as I am not sure exactly where were going or how we are getting there. Really I dont care I am just looking for a fun ride with some other Buellers and meeting some new friends. John |

John(yohinan) Cool, I'm glad to hear your getting to come-- On 17 as you get into New Bern there is a JCPenney's at the mall that is directly across the street from Wal-Mart. I don't know where Michael's is either so I would like for us to try and meet at the front entrance of JCPenney's by 6:30am. It normally takes 30 to 40 minutes to get to Kinston but I have no idea what the visibility will be at that hour of the morning. Does this work okay? Brandy |

Brandy, Sounds good to me. I am sure I wont have any problem finding the JCPenny's. I can meet you directly in front of the Penny's entrance (assuming their is only one, is there more than one?). I will get their by 6:30. I will leave Jville by like 545 just to make sure I get their on time. My cell is 910 330 7551. I am guessing you know the way to Kinston because I am not sure exactly how to get there. John |

What time are we trying to get to Micheals? I think we did 10:00 am last time, but I'm good for anything. Brandy & John - I'm not sure how you will be comming to town, but this will get you there. Get on 64 west in Raleigh, and take it to Jordan Lake. It's a huge lake, you won't miss it. After you pass over the lake, go to the first stoplight. There is a filling station there. Turn right on that road. The road is about 4 miles long and the road it ends at is 15-501. Turn right on 15-501 and Michaels is just a down the road. Probably less than 2 miles. It will be on your right and there will be at least a hundred bikes in the parking lot. |
