Some weird things have been happening on the badweb... me thinks Blake is having some major problems with the system!!! If anyone has a copy of the letter from Buell to fax or hand carry to Roger at the dealership... please do so. I was going to fax a copy... but I guess I tossed mine in the trash. He is asking for a copy. |

Don't tell me I am going to miss a real honest to god Buell event!! I wish I could get one of those sling bags too!! In case anyone has been wondering if I fell off the earth the answer is no. My current occupation just thought I needed to be placed on the other side of the planet for a while (it's not the desert!!. I an on a small island in the Pacific called Guam. Since my last visit here they actually got a real honest to god Harley dealership but I am sorry to report that Buell is not in their vocabulary. I did find one kid who had an M2 he brought over from California. Anyway, it will probably be another month before I make it back to the mid west. If there are any Harley shirt collectors, I wouldn't mind picking up a few. Just let me know how many. Later Dwayne |

Ah. That explains things. (I am new here.) I bought a used Buell that has been sitting in the Seller's garage for 3 years (168 mile). I had them trailer it to Blue Springs (the closest), and they are turning into a bunch of condescending, inconsiderate, jerks (the dealer, that is). Heck. I am paying the same $79/hour as everyone else, and they are refusing to do work. As soon as I can get it out of Blue Springs, I'll take it to Gail's, and that will be the last time B-S will see me. I missed the big to-do last Saturday, but my one visit to Gail's made me feel so much more comfortable than the "other 2". Nice to hear that is the one I should be going to. Maybe they even have the free Buell hats from the current promotion, w/the big blue star.... (Message edited by dustyjacket on April 07, 2005) |

I had to come over to Overland Park today on some business and was on my bike. The State Troopers and Johnson County deputy sheriff's were THICK on K-10. I even got laser gun targeted and the new Blinder unit went off. I was doing 80ish and rolled off the throttle and turned the Blinder unit off and cruised on through the speed trap. Oh, ya the officer was on an overpass on foot ducking behind the bridge guard railing, while 5 or 6 of his fellow officers were waiting in their cars on the cross road to give chase to those poor cagers being trapped.

I'll certainly try to get to the meeting. I want to link up with local riders and learn lots and ride lots. Not sure if a guy with a 4-day old endorsement should try to ride anything there at demo days........ (Message edited by dustyjacket on April 08, 2005) |

What a cool screen name. Have you seen the movie Three Amigos? Steve Martin, Martin Short, and I forget the third. There is a line there that goes.. "Let's ride, Dusty!" Now we can start our club rides with that proclamation! LOL Paul... maybe you should bring Dusty up to speed about me!!! |

Loren. Glad to hear the fuzz buster works. Why'd you turn it off? Can they give you trouble for jamming their signal? Can they tell they're being jammed? |

Charles, according to Blinder and other sources the jammer causes the LIDAR gun to get an error because it was unable to get a ready. From my understanding to can happen at times even if not being jammed. Blinder recommends once you have a warning to quickly slow your speed, and to turn the unit off. This will then allow the LIDAR gun to get a reading, and it appears the error was then just random as you cruise throw the speed trap and normal speed. Maybe one of our professional LEO's can give more insight? I also understand that you could be ticketed or charged for interfering with the duty of a LEO as a way around actually getting you for speeding. On another note I test road the new BMW K1200S today. WOW!!!! Smooth, powerful motorcycle. I WANT ONE!!!! |

gowindward, did englemotors have a demo day or something? I know the BMW dealership in Wichita is having one the Friday before Gail's demo day (I believe). I can't tell you how many times my sister and I watched that movie, three amigos, when we were younger. |

When the KC MOB goes for rides, what communications do you use? CBs? FRS/GMRS? What brands and models? I finally got my Blast out of the shop and rode it for the first time. Time to buy more flexible boots (you have to really point your toe to get under the shifter), a windshield, and a few odds and ends. |

Every other weekend. The next ride is on Sunday 4/17 /2005, meeting at Gail's at 8:30 am. A high mileage lead by KC Firebolt. Most likely an all day ride. Some have FRS, but just a few. It typically is a "follow the leader" |
Paul... maybe you should bring Dusty up to speed about me!!!
Well first of all he is very old, owns a BMW without the Kermit chair (another story), has alot of cool tools that don't get used very much, has more guns than uncle himself. Other than that he is just plain crazy, has about six--teen personalities, and loves to ride wheelies, oh wait that was Sam sorry, well he's just nutz! Welcome aboard DUSTY!!!!! I think you will like our mix of people to make your friends! I am a follow the leader kinda rider as well, some day I wish to have Charles money and buy a real radio, but not yet! |

Stop by Gails today and talked with a guy that was taking a test ride on a xb9sx. He seemed like he really like the bike, so maybe we will have a new member at the end of the day. I told him about the meeting on the 21st so we may see him there. Also they were hosting a riders edge coarse a lot of people riding the blast today, so maybe some of them will be joining too. |

I finally got my bike home last night. Rider's Edge starts Thursday. (I've never ridden before.) I couldn't leave well enough alone. Here is the entry from my web page. ------------------------------------- April 9 2005 - I take the bike out to practice clutch control. I find my hiking boots won't let my toe under the shift, so I need new boots. A couple of construction trucks park on our road, so I use neighborhood streets. I start feeling like I got this licked, when 15 minutes into the practice, I stop (for the second time) at a stop sign, headed downhill, and need to turn left and go uphill. It stalled, I statrted it up again and I revved it and CRASH ! I dropped it going 1 or 2 MPH. Left front turn signal broke off into pieces. Shifter peg bent up. Tank scuffed. lyscreen/fairing scuffed. Bracket holding headlight and flyscreen bent. Headlight shines up. I picked up the pieces; picked up the bike; left my pride laying on the road; and rode home. I put some turn signal pieces back on; bent the bracket into place and rotated the headlight into position. Bent the shifter peg straight. Then, I went out and stayed on my street dodging trucks until I got better on the throttle and clutch. Mary took the picture you see here - left turn signal isn't very amber, nor waterproof. We went to Gails H-D dealer to order parts. Total cost of new parts (turn signal and bracket) is $19.98. We also ordered a windshield and other items, and bought some boots, and ordered a Corbin seat for my achin' butt. http://www.dustyjacket.com/mc/crash.jpg (Message edited by dustyjacket on April 09, 2005) |

#uck, wish I would have known about it.... (demo rides at engles). I asked Paul (i think) if they had anything coming up (like that) a month or two ago and he had no clue. Did they have extra bikes to demo from BMW (and Triumph) or just have their regular stock out there? Ugh. (Message edited by enp83 on April 09, 2005) |
