Mike, We can get together whenever you'd like. I'm currently bikeless (didn't have room for the M2 in the back of the pickup with all of the other crap that I brought out here, and haven't visited Dave yet to get the Firebolt), but I can alwayd drive and meet you somewhere. Sunday afternoon sometime will work for me. Saturday's my 24th b-day, so who knows what's going to happen that night. Might have a little bit of a problem getting up in the morning. I've basically got 4 days I can take off, which is my vacation for the year. I have a meeting this afternoon to go over test schedules for the next two months, it's almost up in the air now if I'll be able to have off (low guy on the totem pole and LOTS of work to be done) I'll get in touch with you Saturday afternoon sometime, Mike. BARTIMUS: I'm going to be in Phoenix next weekend (Thurs-Sunday). Want to grab lunch? | ||

Alright then... I just called their national 800 number and reserved a room w/ two double beds for $63.75/night... Wycked has the other bed spoken for ATM, but if his work schedule gets in the way, it'll be open. | ||

For those of you that are coming out of state I took the liberty of snapping some shots of the roads outside of Prescott. We'll be hitting them on the way up on the first day. The pics don't do the road justice and some of the best parts I didn't take photos of...I was to busy hustling my car through those sections..      | ||

I love that first corner you posted.... I almost hit a rabbit there one night at about 60. That's not specifically why I like it though . I was coming around that turn towards the camera at about 70 or so one time and there was a group of baggers headed the other way. The one in the front waved so I dropped my outside hand off the bars in my standard 2-3 finger low wave and every one of them hit the brakes hard and pulled towards the outside of the road. They thought I was a gonner. What... I didn't need the outside hand... That last pic in the second post is also of a great corner. First gear about 4500 RPM's (unless you're really hustling... ). The road goes back to one lane just after it and then turns left abruptly (as you can see in the first pic of the second post). The right line (IMO) is to cross between the first and second white lines at the left of the second pic. That sets up a nice late apex that allows you to not stuff the sharp left (although I think it may be a good flight if you stuffed it). Excellent fun on that road. Good thing it's at the end of my driveway . I've probably racked up about 6-7K of the 12K miles on my 12R on that road. It was just paved a few years ago (most of it). Very few bumps and the pavement is still sharp. The lane we'll be using on Friday is the outside lane so it tends to stay pretty clean. I'll check it out on my way to Wickenberg to make sure there aren't any surprises for us. Don't get me wrong though... I have no interest in setting any records on a group ride. | ||

M1- When I rode up there on the way home from Phoenix last Sept. I was in Hog (Buell?) heaven. We don't have any roads like that around our parts. The guy that was with me was riding a Road King and I'd stop every couple of miles to let him catch up. Before we left for home he had said that he wanted to ride up the interstate. I told him "Fine, you go your way and I'll meet you at home". Needless to say, he was happy he followed me. | ||
