Bike not running right. Stalling at startup and idling erratically. Running rough at small throttle openings too. I'm taking it to Gateway HD to have it checked out Saturday. It's got 1000 miles. Maybe time for the TPS setting?? Is Gateway pretty good?? |

Well, they kept the bike. Good news is that they said they'll likely cover whatever it is under warranty, and that they'll deliver it back to my house. Bad news is they kept it. |

Steve...You missed a good ride and even better food...Debbies meat loaf is very good although her linguini and chicken livers was even better...Watch here for upcoming rides... Ted...Glad to know your bike is at the doctor's...Keep us informed as to how it turns out and, yes, they should cover any problem like this under the warranty...Has Buell gone to a two year warranty like H-D?... Tuesday morning - hope to hear something back today. Yes, it has a 2 year warranty. I felt a little bad that it was warranty work, I didn't buy the bike there, and they offered to bring it to my house. I asked them to change the transmission oil. Book calls for sport trans. I'll leave it in there 1000 miles and go to synthetic. Seems everyone thinks Mobil 1 2050 in the tranny is good, and half of them think 75/90 is good. Since there are no questions regarding the use of the 20/50, I suppose that's the safest way to go. Hope to see you guys soon! |

I ran out to Lemond's to pick up the FJR's top box. 48Deg, rain, 1.75hr each way. Turns out my Widder gloves are no longer waterproof and the grip warmers don't do a very good job when the gloves are wet. Oh and the baggie I put over the radar detector starts to come off over 95. I don't think I'll be dry by tomorrow but thanks for the thought |

Got the bike back. Was charged for .5 hours labor to adjust the throttle cables, zero the TPS and reset the AFV. It starts and idles better, but still seems lean. At partial throttle, it sputters (45 degrees outside). It still hangs at 2200 rpm from time to time when coming to a stop. It seems to rev a little better, although that could be the weather. They changed the primary oil with SYN3. What is so difficult about getting a bike to run right. I've never had a problem with any other bike I've had - including an RC-51. The RC would do the lean back fire once in a while starting from a dead stop. That must be a big twin characteristic. |

Ted...Take it back and report what you are finding...I take it the bike didn't run like this when you first got it...On our ld" Buells the fuel injection had to be reset buy running them for a while at a certain rpm range in a certain gear...Ask if this is still true...If you cannot get what you feel are good answers then ask for the area Buell rep to give you a call...It may take a phone call between your mechanic and the factory...FYI, I had a problem that Kevin at Widman couldn't isolate and they were no longer a Buell dealer...Kevin took my bike at his own expense up to Ted's in Alton and they got it running right with a call to Buell...Thanks, Kevin for being so straight with me... Racerboy, thank you very much for the info. The mechanic, Buzzie, is in Buell training this week and won't be available until the weekend. I plan to talk to him again. He is Buell DDI trained, but he went for some new training. He did mention running it at 2-3000 rpm for a couple minutes for it to "learn". Who knows, I'll call him in a couple days. |

Sunday Ride...Dec 26th...10:30...Burger King I-44 Washington Exit This Sunday is Bourbeuse Valley H.O.G.'s End of Month Ride...Kickstands up at 1030 hours at the Burger King at 100 and AT highways...This is the Washington MO exit off of I-44...We dodged the snow bullet and the forecast gradual warming trend seems to be arriving sooner than they forecast...I note that the temps moderate even more as you look to the west...So we'll discuss it at the start and if it is just too cold we'll probably do something like just ride to Cowan's in Washington for a good breakfast and fellowship... But, like Smitty said, it is going to be great weather for doing it in the dirt so everyone be safe and have fun... Bob |

Bob, Thanks for posting the ride info. I think I might actually be able to join you this Sat. Sundays are tough for me and I don't have much in cold weather gear. I wanted to ask you something about the M2. The signals are going out on me randomly. The fuses and bulbs all seem good. Would you suggest trying a new flasher unit? Is there a ground that could have come loose? Thanks for any help and I hope to see you on Sat. Steve |

Steve...Good, we look forward to seeing you...Go easy Friday night, eh?...Riding with a hangover is a bitch... As to the turn signals...I can't remember ever having any problem with the M2's...Pumpkin's would not work after extended rain riding...They came on but would not flash...Get 'em dry and they worked fine again...Man, I am so inept mechanically that I would just try a new flasher as I don' think they're very expensive at all...If that doesn't work I'd ask Kevin Haney at Widman for advice... Bob, If it's dry Sat. I'll be there. I'm going to go ahead and try a new flasher. That would be the nice and clean fix. Thanks, Steve |

I've been off the net for more than a month and what time I have off from work is still focused on a better job. I'm working...*gasp* ...retail so time off has been non-existant. (JOsh...keep an eye open for IT related positions...help desk, call center, etc) Bikes are running good and temps are nice. Roads tend to be straight and little change in elevation. Ya'll should have checked out Poverty Point (historic site) when ya were down this way. Can't say I miss the cold, but I do miss the riding company and opportunity. DAve |

Houston...The Eagle Has Landed Okay, here's the deal...Either be at the Eureka QT (I-44 and 109 / W) by 0900 this Saturday or at Bourbeuse Valley H-D about 0930 - 0945 for a 1000 depart...BV H-D is west on I-44, right at US 50, right at AT...The shop is just off I-44...Back roads, mostly, for us up to Winfield and then on to Hardin for PORK CHOP'S (plural of PORK CHOP!) and PIE... Bring binoculars... DRj...Be at the QT, please, and TT and will share your wonderful self...You're my "bitch" on the straight roads and TT's in the twisties...But, of course, you MUST be TT's bitch whenever we're in sight of a hog, or hogette... You luck dog, Bill!...TT and I will be trying to talk you into sharing our respective "bitches" all day, no doubt...You GO grandpa!...I can't wait to give Brynn her first moto ride... Man, it may even be warm enough to wash the scooter tomorrow!... That is all, Bob |

SLABers... I'm in Birmingham, AL through April and ... hopefully ... longer. My company has me here working the home office. LOTS of good roads. I went out this weekend and there was nothing but changes in elevation and turns. Birmingham is hilly! I just need to get out and explore some more roads that are less traveled. LOTS of bikes south east of town... and many are sport bikes. That's a good sign for sure. More to follow.... Now if the rain can stop. DAve |

Well B'ham is a step in the right direction BOb. It's kinda like MO...you can't seem to turn down any road that is not hilly or curvy. I have time off now so that's a step in the right direction as well. I'm heading to a motorcycle show today. As far as your last comment... "I cannot confirm nor deny anything existance of that alleged site and I'm referring you to an official spokesman for a response." DAve |
