Navygunner, I’ll be sailing Sunday on Eagle Mountain which will put me close to the base but with the sailing gear I have to carry this time of year I wont have my bike with me. Here are some pics that might help. I used 3/16” threaded rod cut to size, 2 lock nuts, 2 regular nuts, 2 wing nuts, 2 rubber stoppers, 2 washers and 4 fender washers. Hope this will help for now. What time do you leave the base?

That is brilliant. I was wondering how you attached the allthreads. I'll be leaving tentativaly at 4 o'clock. Provided I don't have to stay for something special. I hope you don't mind but I'm going to copy your idea. I might put a heat blanket under the hole thing on mine. |

Copy away and definitely add your own touches. That’s what this site is all about! |

Well fellas, The Frankenfilter is gone. The Cowtown mod has been done. Rpmchris we need to do this to yours. The hardest part was polishing the edges after the cut to give it that "factory look". It really cleans up that area. I almost hate to put the cover over it. Next mod heat pad. Thanx again Cowtown for the assistance. First pitcher is on me. |

Hey, Navy, I did that mod (with a slight twist or two) a couple of weeks ago! I only used one threaded bolt (drilled a small hole in the base between the air temp sensor and the intake velocity stack), and I cleaned up the lid with a small hose I split and wrapped around the edge. Other than that, it's the same. I also removed the snorkle, trimmed about 1-1/4" off at the top and reinserted just the top portion. I, too, want to put a heat pad in there. Let's definitely get together some time this weekend! |

I did the same mod a couple of weeks ago also. I used two 1/4 bolts with the square section right next to the head. Then I dremmeled two square holes next to the air sensor and installed the bolts from underneath and cinched them down with two nuts. That way they won't turn when I'm installing the washers on the top of the air filter. |

Anyone want to meet up for a short ride today? Weather looks great! I'm talkin' about a few hours only, not a major trip. Who's in? |

I wasn't feeling well yesterday so I didn't go anywhere. Looks like several nice days this week, so I'll def commute on the bike!!! It's so clean and shiny - I'm still waiting on a few parts to "complete" it. I have a new digicam so I'll shoot some pics soon (I'll have to figure out how to upload them on the BadWeB...). |

Sounds like fun. I'll be in Thailand and won't be returning until the 23rd. I'll have to catch you another weekend. I'm available after noon this Saturday. Anyone want to ride? |

I'm sick about it, but I can't ride this weekend - my "honey do" list will keep me indoors. I might be able to make a quick blast or two on some favorite twisties close to home, but no long rides... On a better note, I'm taking the Experienced Rider Course in Bedford (Pennington Field - 7:30am-12:30pm) on Saturday, March 19, and I'm free after that and all day Sunday, too! |

Seeing as I'd like to meet all y'all, any ride sounds good. Problem is, what the heck is el ranchito chingadero? I've gathered that it's near Brenham, but that's as much as I can find. |

Hello everybody. First time poster, long time visitor. I bought an XB12R a little over a month ago and love the bike. If any of you local Buellers would like to ride or get together sometime, please shoot me an e-mail. Also, are any of you planning on going to the CMRA races next weekend? |

Welcome, Uncle Bob! Give us some info on the races - where, when, etc. If it's on the 19th and/or 20th, I'm in! |

This months races are at the Motorsport Ranch in Cresson. About 20 miles southwest of Ft. Worth on Hwy 377. The endurance races are on Saturday. They start around 2PM. The sprints are on Sunday and start at 10:30AM. I'm planning on making Saturdays races if anyone would like to meet me along the way..... There are a few Buell XB9's that race in the heavy weight twins group. |

Welcome aboard Uncle Bob, I lived in Euless for 18 years. Graduated from Trinity in '89. My parents still live there. I'm down every week, I'll have to look you up for a ride sometime. |

Howdy Bob! I used to live in Useless back in the late 80's. Lived in those pink apartments right by DFW. Sometimes I'd try to jump up and touch the 'planes as they'd pass over on landing (never could quite reach 'em). I know some folks from here in Austin are going to Cresson for a track day on Monday, the 21st. Howdy Bob !!! Chris, wassup ??? I was stuck at home last weekend and put a tfi unit on my bike. Seems like it runs better, smoother, and cooler but I"m having some small issues with it to take care of. I'd like to go down to Cresson with yall next weekend but I"m planning on doing a bicycle ride in Abilene next saturday. I'll probably spend most of the weekend there... A guy at work organizes a ride about once a month and I went with them today. Had a really good time, we went to Hillsboro, ate and rode back on some really good roads. I didn't want to mention it until I had rode with them but I'll let yall know the next ride he sets up. He seems to know the roads pretty well and where most of the cops are. We would take it easy in traffic, towns and populated areas and nail it in the boonies... I won't say I got up to 120 today, but wink, wink... After, this coming weekend, I should have the next one off and then bicycle rides on the 2nd and 9th of April... See everyone on the next ride... Kevin |

I'll be able to make the Saturday races. Any particular time or place you all would like to meet? They start up at 2PM. If the races get too boring, there are tons of twisty roads in the area. Hopefully my roommate will have his old 82' GPz1100 out of the shop and will make the trip with us. |

You're just not used to food with true flavor Dave! The next time you come down, I'll be sure to bring some pickled okra for you to try. It's even better than the fried stuff. But we'll eat almost anything down here. |
