with a little help (squirt of carb cleaner etc) my wife's 02 buell blast starts right up and runs fine. But it will not start when cold without a little help. I can let it sit for 15 minutes or so and it will still start, but if cools off too much it simply will not fire. I've replaced the plug and the auto enricher. The carb is clean and it's getting fuel to the carb. I know it needs a new battery, I've been jumping from a car battery...could the battery be the issue? I'm at a loss here and would appreciate any help! |

You might want to post your problem in the section of this site devoted to the Blast: THUMPer http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/201 64/20164.html?1291243673 If the bike has the original eight year old battery, it very likely needs to be replaced. Motorcycle batteries and electrical systems are marginal at best: keeping the battery on a smart charger, like a Battery Tender Jr., is really a must for regular starting and long battery life. |
