This all seems odd to me. I was in Sturgis a few years back on my XB and got nothing but compliments. |

Seems odd to me too. Nothin but compliments here. Harley riders have always been very nice to me. Actually Ive never had a run in with any group that wasnt especially nice to me. Guess things like this is where the phrase "Minnesota Nice" comes from. |

BUT Spent today riding Slab - thru Small Villages - Country roads - thru a Small City - Suburban Roads - Boonie Twisties - to The Mall AND Wherever I was going all the HD guys were riding away from there I think we may have a collective hygiene issue - Let's freshen up guys. |

Cry a little? I mean really. Give em the bird back if it really bothers you. Worst thing I have ever had happen was have someone on a scooter try to wave at me. I responded with a shrug. |

If they're on two wheels I generally throw a wave. Lack of response (or a bird, which I don't recall every having received) results in in-helmet verbal abuse which makes me laugh and feel better. |

I've been called a "ricer" and "rice rocket" by some Harley friends (well, mostly friends dads) but it wasn't serious. I guess the sound confuses the hell outta them if they don't know Buells, but they really should if they've ever stepped foot into a HD dealer! Most people, Harley or otherwise do the "left hand pointing down" type wave. |

Me 'n D have two fave waves when we're feeling silly; one is the Wave Wave, left hand up high and facing forward, "sailing" up and down emulating an ocean wave, the second is the Lt. Dan Wave - think Forrest Gump in his shrimp boat waving at Lt. Dan on the dock. For maximum effect, both waves are best done by rider and passenger in unison. Takes a few times to get it synced just right, so we like to practice on oncoming Harleys. One time unannounced we did the Lt. Dan on the Parkway when Carlos/M2nc was following us; he about ran off the road from laughing so hard. |
