I am picking up an '09 Ultra on Friday. I went looking for the online owners manuals (like Buell does) and couldn't find them.

What is the break in procedure for the '09s?

Thanks,

Head into the mountains for a relaxed ride through some tight twisty roads. The constant rolling on & off of the throttle does a great job of seating the rings. A day of that and you should be good to go.

Be sure to post about the new and improved touring machines. I'm curious as to the degree that it can be felt.

Are you getting ABS? It saved my bacon this past weekend in Reno.

Well - I wasn't going to spend the money. But, the day before I posted this and was out shopping for bikes I did a demo ride on an '09 Road Glide to see if I could feel the difference in handling on the '09s.

There was a bunch of traffic and I was stuck in the middle lane on a 3-lane highway. I was going about 40 or so when the car slightly ahead and to the left of me decided to dive in front of me then hit the brakes. I had no escape path - so it was full bore panic breaking as the only option.

The ABS hauled it down just fine. In fact, I may have over reacted a bit - I had plenty of room between me and the idiot cager when we all came to a stop.

Oh... and the reason for the panic stop in the middle lane on the highway? Lit cigarette fell into the guys lap. I followed him to the next exit and talked to him at the gas station. He apologized - but not enough. <sigh>
