I'm living in 'Sunny Southern California', but my RS has a sticker on it that says it's from Spitzy's in Schenectady. Despite the recent rain (deluge?) it still likes the winters here better. AL |

Cruising, you ever ride through smugglers notch in VT? |

Of course! The notch roads are nice, but AVOID THE FALL SEASON. Friggin' leaf peepers are looking at the foliage and not paying attention. There are so many tight corners and they like to take the corner tight, often crossing over the line. I prefer to go a little south and catch 17 (Appalachian Gap) or the Lincoln Gap. Less traffic - here's some maps of what I'm talking about: Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout! LeftCoastal - I got my 95 S2 from Spitzie's! Nice place - always well taken care of. The owner prefers Buells and also sells Aprilia motorcycles as well - I think the V-Rod is the only forward control bike he owns. Definitely a recommended dealer. Now, if only this snow (and all the salt and sand that is with it) would go away...I wanna ride! Wah! |

Ya'll are killin me. Gotta be some of the best roads I've ever ridden up there in NY. Hell, that's where I fell in love with Buells-during a demo at Woodstock's open house. Can't imagine much better riding on a Buell! Have fun...I'll be here riding straight roads so you don't have to! |

Yeags - I've always been treated well, but I've heard that others have had the same comments you have. I seldom stop anymore but I have noticed that the Buell corner seems to have gone away, although the parts guys usually can get it. Nobody wants to wait, though, and shouldn't have to for regular accessories. When I went to get my 2004 12R Spitzie's couldn't get a black one in for two months. I ended up going to the other close dealer in Meredith, NH. Heather (Sales Manager) was awesome, got me the deal, and traded in my S2 there. Support from them has been awesome, including getting my bike in for the warranty replacement of the front rotor while I was there helping with a demo day. Considering it's a 3 hour ride to either from my place, I've stuck with Meredith when I need a dealership. |

Tripper - When I lived there (UPSTATE) anything that wasn't Long Island, NYC, or maybe the south half of Westchester County was considered Upstate! Most 'City' (NYC) people considered anything north of Bear Mountain to be Canada! I'm sure Mr. Canfield is showing them the error of that mindset, a couple of riders at a time. AL PS - if you decide to ride to meet at Woodstock H-D from N. Tanawanda, pack a lunch, that's a LONG days ride! |

Cruisin - 17 is a fabulous piece of road. We come down from Canada at least twice a year and stay in Waitsfield. Isn't the Lincoln Gap road part gravel? By the way I still haven't removed the amber wheels from the bike. I plan on doing so around month end. |

Mbsween, If you get anything together let me know. I'm up for a good ride anytime time I can! Unless something major interferes, I plan on doing the BRAG Appalachian Adventure. Maybe we can hook up somewhere? Are you still trying to get a BRAG/Buell riders group together? I kept meaning to contact you since we got back from running the ridge. This message board finally got me going on posting! Tripper, are you in N. Tonawanda? Looking at your profile, it shows Kansas. |

Mike, Still thinking about it, the brag group, I wonder if we can make ti happen with just 3 or 4 people. Well it looks like we have at least 2 in Rochester, and at least 3 in Buffalo. Tripp, are you in Buffalo now? Your profile shows Olathe. Holy cow, my sister lives 'round the corner in Stillwell (KS that is). So maybe we have enough people to get going. As to rides, I'm waiting for the weather to top 40 for a couple days, this march snow stuff sucks I'll keep you posted, but I'm thinking we can a bunch of us headed to VA in sept, then maybe we can collect people as we go ie the buffalo people meet up with rochester, then we pick up somebody in Syr, maybe albany, meet court somewhere in PA...... That would rock |

Jon - thanks - I'm picking up my parts in NH on the 20th. The rim I have is fine...just has scuffed edges. It probably could be polished and repainted (anyone...anyone...Bueller?) if somebody wants something other than amber. Lincoln gap map have a stretch or two that is dirt, but I can't remember exactly where. There's enough fun to be had that it's worth going over though. Just a little south of that is the Ripton gap (Route 125) - another fun road. Between those three, and the roads a little further north like the notch, you could go 200 - 300 miles of mostly twistie roads. It makes for a fun day to play in the "backyard" - Vermont does at least have THAT advantage. Out of all of them, though...I think 17 is my favorite... |

I'm game. Just need to give me three hours to get there...which means a it will have to be little closer to summer. I went to a few club meetings in New Hampshire last spring - had to leave by 7am and in March and April - IT'S NOT VERY WARM THAT TIME OF DAY. I don't know what made me smile more - the ride, or the fact that a few guys who live within 20 miles wouldn't ride to the meeting because it was too cold. Ah well...sucks to be them. We'll have to set something up later on - I'll try to drag what few Buell riders there are up here with me |

yes i definetly want to get a big group together...i usually ride with a bunch of big harley people who like to ride for an hr then drink beers for a few then go home...i want to hit the twisties..i'm currently in daytona so we will stay in contact until it gets warm....i will do the leg work and try to get everyone who lives in the north together for a fun weekend...i can arrange hotels etc.....if anyone breaks we can probably get back to my house and fix it...anyway anyone who want to ride this spring/summer hit me up with a message and we will all get together and decide on a date. Figure on meeting at Brunswick harley/buell on a sat morning and we'll take it from there. If that doesn't work for anyone give me a location we can meet at. Brunswick takes me a half hr to get to depending on traffic on Rt7 |

I know that feeling. When I first got my S2 I joined HOG since there's a local chapter. Lots of meetings, occasional publicity rides, but very few people who could actually RIDE. No local clubs up here, so I'm forced to hang out with the jap bikes. There are a few who can ride, and a few who like to think they can. It'll be nice to ride with other Buells. Hotels? Bah...we'll all just camp out at your place |
