I am really impressed with the Pirelli's on the SX model. I'm a pretty conservative rider [no burn outs, etc] but I'm not sure mine are going to make it to 4K. I seem to eat up tires a bit prematurely on all my bikes, for some reason. I believe it is related to the large number of chip seal roads we have around here. There are also small sections of gravel I ride on regularly. Regardless, these tires have already lasted 1000 miles longer than the Dunlop 207's I had on the XB9SL and that's a good thing. BTW, in previous threads about tire longevity, there appeared to be a relationship between the weight of the rider and how long the Dunlops lasted.
