Not my cup of tea, but for all of you "I wonder what an XB chopper would be like" people. http://www.headbllow.com/custom%20bike/xb9r/xb9r-09.html |

Looks like it has a lot of V-Rod influence in it. Just found this on their site though: http://www.headbllow.com/custom%20bike/buellrs1200/buell-rs1200.html (Message edited by mikej on February 23, 2005) |

That is actually very nice. Most I have seen look rough and scabbed together. I would ride that bike any day. Thanks for the link! |

Not to sound negative, but I don't like it. It just doesn't look right. The swing arm looks out of place and the rear fender just doesn't sit right. But who I am I to say what should look good. The mcworx bikes look like a well made chopper though. |

You guys may all already know this, but I'll say it anyway. Redneck Engineering has a chopper kit that uses the X1 forks, wheels, and engine. They will modify the kit per request for tanks, fenders, etc. This is the link: http://www.redneckengineering.com/mutants.htm I personally don't understand the chopper/cruiser thing, but If I was to build one this would be the way to go for economy and to make something different. A complete X1 is cheaper than a big evo engine and matching tranny. |

I like it. I also like the Blast chopper that Crossroads put together. http://www.nvo.com/crossroads/

Oh, here's a great idea; let's take one of the finest handling bikes ever made and turn it into the motorcycling equivalent of a pig on stilts for the sake of style and style only. While we're busy buggering up the handling, why not make them really uncomfortable, too. Let's all follow teevee's latest trend and butcher our motorbikes. Bollocks to the lot of them. Bob |

So Nedwreck tell us how you really feel Anyway to each their own. Would be nice to have a chop job if I had a stable of bikes. Not practical for most needs other then just cruising around town or going to biker events. I would never butcher my XB into one of those Frankenstein monsters unless I wrecked it and used the remains for creating something different. But still nice to see the creativity. |

Shreveport HD has a XB9 chopper...they replaced the tail section with a low (relatively speaking) short "ducktail" kinda seat, matching yellow leather. Fabricated some forward controls, using the original buell foot pegs. The shifter is kinda wonky, its set too far inboard, but "a longer shift peg will fix that" sayeth Randy (the salesperson). They were asking $5000 a couple weeks ago (in the sale tent)...best thing is..the bike is a 2003, with 214 miles on it.. (Message edited by rockbiter1 on February 25, 2005) |
