took my bike through the msf course on the base today.heck of a way to get aquainted with a new bike.we did good though,we made it through without incident.i must say though, and maybe it 'cause it's new,but the bike did not seem to like to be ridden slow like that.putting around at 1500 rpm's wasn't that easy, but this has got to be the most fun i have ever had on a bike.was gonna ride more, but the bottom fell out after i got home.will try again tommorrow.now,i have a question.if i install one of odie's mufflers,a k&n filter and a techlusion box,do i still have to buy the race ecm.thanks for all the info and thank buell for building an awesome bike. |

The 12s does pretty well right out of the box. On the 9's, simple mods will get you a pretty noticable improvement. Slap in the new filter, slap on a new exhaust, put on the 05 airbox, and you pick up a few horses everywhere, and a good amount up top. For the 12, you already have the good airbox, and your exhuast with the servo is tough to beat across the board (you can, but not by much). You can get aftermarket cans that give away bottom end power to get top end power, but that (IMHO) is a step backwards. I would just slap in the Race air filter, and leave the rest of the bike alone. |

does installing a race or k&n filter require any other changes. |
