Well, I dropped my bike off at the harley dealer by my house last Thursday and the bike is all messed up. When you turn the bike on it would just run for a second and turn off, unless you gave it gas and then it would stay on until you let go of the throttle, there is more to it but don't wanna bore you with details. When I get to Harley I showed the service manager and the tech what was happening. They started to say what they think it maybe. Well after running the bike for a little bit and the headers having some heat to them, the service tech puts his head down to see up the engine. Well when he put his head down he actually put his forehead directly on the header, I mean I really heard it sizzle. Without trying to laugh too hard I asked him "Have any ideas?" he looks at me real serious and says "Yeah, don't do that!". I almost lost it. I figured I would share my great experience with you guys. Oh yeah, and the bike has been there for almost a week and they still have no clue what is wrong with it. Gotta love the service. LMFAO...that is too funny man!!! I know that had to hurt soooo bad. I once barley touched mine with two fingers for a split second, and felt it for 2 days... |

I have scars from that crap man. When I was trying to get my clutch adjusted I must have hit the header like 5 times, I know it hurts, but he is the tech, you would figure he knew better. That is the type of dealer I am dealing with. For a place that was #1 in selling Buells they only have 1 tech that works on the Buell and he is retarded. The reason they haven't figured out what's wrong with your bike is because they're still trying to figure out how to get his forehead skin off your header and graft it back on to his forehead! Obvious, isn't it!?!? |

I don't care about pointing fingers...It's Pompano Harley in Pompano Beach, Florida. They are the WORST dealership. I don't know how they sell so many Buells. LET THE BASHING BEGIN!!!! |

lazyme21 This is what is happening to my bike also. I have not brought it to the dealer yet. But when I do I expect the same service. Please let me know what it is when they find out what it is. Michael 2003 XB9S 2005 FLTRI Long Island, NY |

Yeah not a problem, the last I spoke to them they told me that it might be an ECM problem. But I was convinced that it was a fuel injector problem. |

Well Lazy, the ECM controls the FI so you both could be correct. |

When he checked the injector he said it was getting the correct amount of pressure, so he doesn't think anything is wrong with the injector. I guess it is a waiting game at this point. |

Better not bash them too much till you get your scooter back. You'd be surprised who reads the whinging on here and identifies the owners. |

Lazy isn't bashing them...he's just making fun of them. I'm the one bashing them. Doesn't matter cause I would NEVER let them touch my bike. I don't even go in there for parts unless it's really urgent. |

I give the tech credit for getting a header to the forehead, taking it like a man, and being able to crack a joke about it. If nothing else, he's a tough SOB with a good sense of humor! |

I wouldn't give him that much credit. He is the tech that dropped my bike when I took it in there last time. |

That is a good story. I had a similar one with a tyre change on a GSXR at a Suzuki Dealer. "When we did the valve adjustment we found one of the spark plugs siezed in the head so we left it there". Cheers, not that I asked for a valve adjustment, and I already know about the plug cause you stuffed it last time I came here. Now you can change the tyre I left it here for. I wonder if the other Gixxer owner got a new tyre for the price of a valve adjustment? |

That is really funny but sad that some dealers don't treat a buell the same they treat a harley.....bastards. When i worked for harley i loved buells and i treated them just as careful ,if not more ,then some 35g bike.I was a tech apprentice and head detailer and trust me ,no buells left there dirty. Unfortunately they no longer sell buells here or buell parts. Not alot appreciate them here.....once again.....bastards |

Oh man did I ever need a funny today and that's a good one. You have to admire the tech's wit and unflappability. I'd take one of my to him just so I could watch. I'm still LMBO. I also have a perma scar on my right inner calf from some V&H longshots. Thanks for posting that Lazyme! G2 |

I brushed my header with my wrist after putting on my new exhaust and taking it for a hard ride. Thought I had a drip coming off the front rocker box and went to check to see if it was oil or very dirty water...it was painfully very dirty water. 2nd almost 3rd degree burn, wright where the glove sinches to the wrist/wristband of the jacket sinches to the wrist. |

I burned myself once putting my wheel lock on. I was parked really close to the curb and was kneeling down putting the lock on an just tapped my elbow again the header. It blistered, but it wasn't too bad. At least it wasn't my face...what an A$$HOLE!!! He belongs at that dealership. |

Well I finally got the call from the Dealership and my bike is ready, they are telling me that all the bike needed was TPS adjustments, spark plug wires and of course new plugs. I hope it doesn't brake again. |

Hey Tarmac...you used to be a head detailer, so maybe you could repair that tech's head!?!? Not to hijack this thread, but while some are winging (i.e. criticizing) about the dealership(s), up here in Canada Buell has hired a survey firm to send out questionaires (sp?) to Buell owners, asking their opinions about not only the bikes, but also some fairly searching questions about the dealerships we frequent. I think some really good stuff will come out of this. You have the option on these surveys to submit your comments to your dealer if you wish (I did). I suspect Buell has been reading threads on this website and others, and realizes the service end of things must be addressed, and upgraded in some cases where required, or perhaps even suspend certain dealerships from service contracts (?). This survey is also available on the Canadian Buell website. Is this also happening with the happy Buell owners in the US?? |

Dude, what I don't understand is, Pompano Harley is like the #1 Buell Dealer, sorry Dave, and they basically said to me today that I should probably take my bike somewhere else, because they don't have the techs to work on the bikes. How can they be the #1 dealer and not have service techs to work on the bikes. |

I don't think any Harley dealer really gives a crap about a Buell. Well it seems that way. |
