I've poked around this site forever, but finally got off my butt and registered so I can become part of the great community here. I was curious to know if anybody is in the Burlington, VT area (or Plattsburg, NY area)? With no dealers in this state and the closest one being 150 miles away, Buells are rather rare. It's sad when you can be identified by the color of your Buell, not just the model. So if anybody's near me, let's hook up for some gap roads... CruiSin |

Sorry...forgot about the Buell history of my riding. I got into Buells about 5 years ago with my first motorcycle being a 95 S2. It was sweet, until a buddy of mine put it in a ditch and racked up $7200 in damage. I replaced it with another S2, but when the new XB12R came out I had to trade it in. Now I'm just having fun modifying the R and loving every minute of it. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that where Burton Snowboards home office is? I've read that there is some good boarding up in that area. I think I could handle not having many other Buells around to board in the winter and ride during the summer. Good luck finding people. |

Yes, Burton is located in Burlington (actually a buddy of mine just started working there...he gets to borrow boards whenever he wants - ironically enough he just got a 2004 XB12R for Christmas). I still think we're in the single digits for Buells in the state, but maybe we finally broke into double digits. The same thing that makes great snowboarding makes for awesome riding - mountains! The roads up here are great - perfect for Buells. I took Peggy Sue and others in the BRAG ride (Carving the NorthEast adventure) through some of the Vermont roads. By the end of the day it was hard to get the grin off of everybody's faces. I'm just trying to figure out why everybody else's introduction gets tons of welcome responses...mine gets very few :-( |

Welcome and the moment the weather permits I'd love to head to Vermont on the XB9SX. I've been riding Buells for 20 years and Vermont is one of the 4 states I've not ridden in...sounds awesome. Court New York City |

Ah yes, the Ben & Jerry factory - I made sure the route went near it so people could stop if they wanted to. There were some good times had on that trip. Court - You're in NYC and you've never been to VT? You should come up for a weekend and I'll take you around all the fun roads. Oddly enough I hang out in the Port Jervis area every September for a rally. Another great road there - Hawk's Nest. |
