Guy by the of Eric from Columbia S.C. brought his bastard creation to Stone Mountain HD/Buell this Saturday for their bike show. It stole the show, to say the least. He mounted his own clip-ons that bolted under the top triple tree. No tach, speedo, fuel guage...nothin' Buell was the largest category believe it or not!

Twin shocks just don't do it for me anymore, nice custom though! |

I see the weak swingarm remains. Lots of flex in the sweepers, ugh. That why I traded my 04' 1200R of my Buell. After upgrading to progressive 440 shocks and springs the bike handled better but just exaggerated the swingarm weakness. Neat bike though. |

I'd like to see someones body on that bike with their feet on the pegs and their hands on the clip ons....I'm trying to picture it and it just likes freakin ridiculous. I'm not very limber, I don't know if I could do it. I mean look where the seat is compared to the foot controls, and then that's an extremely long reach to the bars and they're just as low as the seat |

For me, that bike looks physically impossible to ride!!!! I could not plant my butt in the seat and grab the bars at the same time..... that's why I ride a Low S. ("LOW S" sounds like my next personal plate!) |

I sat on it and believe it or not it was pretty comfortable. |

I notice you ride a LOW as well. I'm only 5'6"....but I keep up with the big boys at work pretty well. I must admit, I like the looks of the bike, but it looks intimidating to me. |

I like the looks of that Millinium X1 with the firebolt frontend... |

If it stole the show, it was because it's a chopper crowd. I mean these guys think an OCC bike is killer cool and fast. This bike is far from a street fighter; it's a chopper. Streetfighters have to have great handling, suspension and brakes...basically a stripped roadracer. The bike you show has none of the requirements. |

All depends on the type of street you will be "fighting" on. If its your typical urban city then all you really need is a big hp motor & brakes to stop it. Handling & suspension are pretty much a waste in the stop light gran prixs. And I dont know, maybe that sporty could handle halfway decently, XB front end, looks like progressive shocks for the rear |

It is no doubt a Sportster with a Buell front end. I like it, though I would have different bars on it too. If it was mine, it would depend on what I am doing or where I am going as to which bike I would ride though. I will save a picture of it to my "dream Buell chopper" category. Thanks for sharing... I like it..but why wouldn't I..The xb brakes are GREAT..twin shocks for stability..put together for taking care of business. I'm 6ft 180lbs and close to 50 yrs old and the ergonomics help keep me young and they are more comfortable than you might think..Both of my streetfighters serve me well.. Granted it isn't an XB, or even a tube frame, but you might be surprised how well a bike like that is capable of handling. The front suspension and brakes are capable tools for sure, but I don't care for the pipes and the mid controls would hinder lean angle. IMHO an XL with clip-ons needs to be complimented with rear-sets. Makes for better ergos all around. I would do it like this... Actually I DID! LOL. That was my bike, till it got totalled by a broadside in September of 2002. I do miss that bike from time to time. It was one heckuva ride. |

I like it -- and then Timbo posts that killer Sporty. I've had that pic saved since you first put it up. Before B-Fub bailed out of here on me we talked about doing a FXD fashioned after Timbo's ride. I'm convinced that your Sporty pic will eventually cost me some money. Sweet ride. G2 |

Koz...That's Silverbullet's X1-R. He has done some cool mods with some XB parts and crossroad bars. Its a very unique looking Millinium X1. |

Hey Bigdaddy, That's funny, thanks. That bike always got lots of attention wherever I took it. After I posted that pic, I wondered if maybe I shouldn't have. I could just imagine someone saying "there he goes posting that Sporty pic again", but it did seem appropriate for this thread. More food for thought (or fuel on the fire) Ok, that's it I promise. |

I rode in with the guy that owns that bike. He looked to be pretty comfortable, and it took the curves pretty well also. If it stole the show, it was because it's a chopper crowd. Yeah, that's why Black_Sunshine won the "People's Choice" trophy. Congrats again Will! |

I know the guy who built that Sportster. He lives in Columbus, Georgia and works at Chattahoochee HD. The last time I saw it, it didn't have the XB front end. The bike has a very "cobbled" quality (in a good way). |

Timbo, If you have other pics that you've not already posted (I've kept all of them) please PM me and I'll send you a good e-ddress for them :-) I'm seriously constipating doing a FXD as close to that as possible. I can't imagine anyone that visits this site, or has a love for sweet rides, being anything but envious about that Sporty. G2 |

Hey..........freaking sweet my bike is actually on a board on the net lol.To answer a few questions ,she handles freaking awesome ,she is very comfy and she is built the way i like my bikes ,like the old cafe racers. If you do your homework and look long enough she is built in the same aspect of those old bikes but with little hints of my own personality and style. The other buells were freaking awesome. Everyone had some mod to them and i was loving it. All of them were to cool and i had fun. I met will , silverbullet ,frank and the flat black fighter pilot buell ( love the stickers btw). I know i met more but i never got your names ,kinda made me sad when i left ,but there is march Thanks again |

Hey Eric, Good job! There is a group on Yahoo groups called CafeXL, don't know if you've heard of it or not, but you would be very welcome there. My friend Cafe Bill started it a few years ago when four of us guys locally had cafe Sportys. Theres a bunch more around the country now, but still kinda rare. Yours would fit right in. Timbo |
