ok i currently have an xb9r, but i came across this 2004 xb12s that is wrecked, what do you guys think its worth as it sits and also when it is completed an how much it would cost to fix...if i get it i will prolly sell my bike ride the S for awhile and sell it and buy a newer R....thanks |

I can't see what the real damage is, but an alternative would be to take all the "R" pieces from your 9, and swap them over so you could have a 12R. Just use the ECM, and Exhaust Valve controller from the 12, and swap the harness from your R right along with the body pieces. Then you could sell off the 9 for a project bike and not need to buy a newer R. |

Chop it? No way! It's far from a lost cause! And a frame to fit the XB motor is gonna cost more than the parts to put it back together! From what I can see (now remember I'm extremely cheap!) I'd say in the condition it's in I'd pay somewhere around $4237.89 But that would be assuming the tabs for the tail section were broken off the frame. That means a total tear down and reweld. If that's the case tabs for frame sliders should be put on right away. The flyscreen is gone so I'd imagine the cowl behind it needs replacing. Mirrors are cheap. It would more than likely take another $521.14 (with tax) to make it road worthy (assuming you're Ebay literate). Unless you just replace parts and turn it right into a 12R. Then it'll go a bit higher. This is just a wild, half way educated guess! The whole deal would be off if there's anything more than a scratch on the right side of the frame in the "typical" spot! What would it be worth? That's totally up to you. It's a lot of fun taking on a project like that! My brother and I have done a couple and it's quite satisfying to ride off into the sunset on a bike that was supposed to be dead and now has a salvaged title rather than a salvage title. |

I have complete S rear, as I converted my S to an R. If your gonna put it back to an S, I have all the rear parts youll need. Everything is perfect, my 9 only had 3000 miles on it when I swapped. CHEAP! |
