I've searched but didn't find an answer so here's the question. What's the best and least viberating mirror that uses the stock mounts. I'd get barends but I wouldn't have enough clearance to ride through doorways (don't ask, lol). Bike's an XB(12S). |

Are you sure you don't have the clearance for barends if you get the hinged LS mirrors? Best I've ever used..see here When folded back 90 degrees, the additional width on each side is about 1 inch. They have a ball detent in the normal riding position, so when you flip them back, they are right where you left them. The LS mirrors are extremely popular here in California where it is legal to lane split, but I find them very convenient for their ability to to let me fit several bikes in the garage, as each bike is 7" narrower with the mirrors folded in. Hey Al- Are there no other options for Buellers that don't want bar-end mirrors? I would like something sleeker than the awful round, stock mirrors. -Brad ps-you got mail. |

I like the mini race fairing mirrors, but I can't find a local source. http://www.r-r-customizing.de/seiten/shop_eng/index.html By the time I get them to Hawaii is going to be well over 100.00 bucks. Also if I decide to go with the cat eyes, does anyone know where you can get the mirror hole covers? I've seen them on other bikes. |

Tatsu, go to Lowes/Home Depot, etc and go to the hardware aisle. Look in the drawer that has all the plastic plugs for cars, etc. Get the black ones that are 3/16" or 1/4". I forget. They will work just fine......Odie |

Rubberdown...I used the mirrors off of my Valkyrie for the XB9S. I put true surface mirrors on the Valky...true surface did not work on the Buell because of the vibration. However the Valky mirrors work great on the Buell for my usage and taste on the Buell. They are shorter (I like), the chrome mirrors match the chrome handlebars on my Buell, and they are rectangular, not the lollypops that come out on the Buell. I like the low looks of the Valky mirrors on the Buell, plus they are useable...yes I have to tuck in my shoulder to get a good look behind me. I chose them for utility and looks...plus they were available. I do a lot of lane splitting, so I don't want barend mirros. Back in the States I might go that way, but not here. One man's opinion... |

Tatsu, yea, I forgot you had an R! I wonder what the hole spacing similarities are for those vs. yours? Might not hurt to check. I think I've seen some of those in just plain also....Odie |

I have been using bugeye mirrors for over a year now. They work better than any mirror I have ever used on any bike I've ever had and I have been riding for 30 years now. I use them off-roading as well. Check it out at http://www.bugeyes.com/ |

To plug the mirror holes, I used the seat plug from the sportster. It's the perfect size. It also looks nice with the bar and shield on it. The are really cheap too. |

Cyko_bob, which mirrors did you go with on your Valk? I hadn't even thought about moving my Valk's mirrors to the XB...but will certainly try it now! |

Ethan I don't remember the brand, but I bought true surface mirrors at a local Honda Shop. They were rectangular, looked a lot like the stock mirrors on the Valky, except the stem was a little slimmer. You might check some of the Japanese bike shops...Dennis Kirk catalog, etc. I would look at the mirrors for you to find a brand name, but I am in Korea, and the Valky is in Texas. Anyway, I like the Valky mirrors on the Lightning even if I have to tuck in my shoulder to see behind me...better looking than the black lollypops that come on the bike. BTW, for anyone out there that does not already know, the threads on the mirrors are metric. Harley mirrors won't work... |
