Need new spark plug wires. Mine are cracked to all hell. Fell apart in my hand yesterday while changing my plugs. I found some info on the board and saw some people recommending the Accel 300+. Are there any others? What about these from ironmachine.com? http://www.ironmachine.com/product_info.php?cPath=42&products_id=148 and/or http://www.ironmachine.com/product_info.php?cPath=42&products_id=147

I made some out of Screamin Eagle universal fits.
Worked good till they started to rub through.
Replaced with Buell Pro Race wires.

Got about 16,000 miles on it now. Maybe it's the weather...South Florida heat and rain.

Pretty sure you can use ANY universal type fit wires.

Although they rubbed through due to improper routing I plan to just have a couple of new stock Buell wires each time I change the plugs...at 7 bucks for two wires they cost as much as one of the plugs which isn't too bad every 10,000 miles.

Watch out for universal wires. When I experimented with some Acell 300+ they went on okay but the connectors on the coil are very proprietary and I can't find anything else like it. I haven't looked hard though.....They feel like they go on okay but don't connect well at all......Odie

Hi Odie...kind of like Lovematt's idea of simply putting on new Buell plug wires when you change the plugs. Simple maintenance to prevent future problems. How is it going over there?

Hey Bob, yea, I just put new stock wires on two days ago. I need to get some Pro-Series someday. Everything here is well except for the weather. Sleet, snow just north of us and cold, rain here. Then tomorrow, 64 degrees and mostly sunny! Can't have it all I guess. Later, Odie

Odie...do you know how to shrink digi photos? I take most of mine at 3MP,usually good enough for my purposes. However, the board evidently requires less mega-pixels to post a pic. I get that message to shrink the pic down...so how do you do it?

Weather here is cold...have not had much snow this year, although we did get some yesterday. It melted by mid afternoon. Not bikin' weather here.

Bob

Using Photoshop you can just resize it down to about 650 x whatever pixels and then use the SAVE FOR WEB option.

Hi Cyko bob,
The link to Irfanview (freeware) doesn`t work anymore on my computer.
Little-and-ultrafast-must-have-program for easy resizing images (and much more) http://www.irfanview.com/
Further compression (when needed) with the optimizer.

All...thanks for the info on downsizing photos...downloaded the Opitimizer from the Buell pics area.

Odie...check this site out for some righteous Buell Choppers. My style...thinking about getting into a small scale bike building shop when I retire...specializing in Buell choppers (and Buell parts left over from donor bikes)...

This particular bike was also in Hot Bikes magazine. I really like the looks of it, but I would also do some things differently...personal taste.

I am using the accel wires. As you can see one wire is way too long, but they work great. Stock wires on the left in first pic, accel on the right.

Bob,
I know the guy that built that Buell chopper, I talk to him probably once a week and his shop is right down the street. Brad Pitt actually bought that bike from him...Those choppers are what me and my roommates plan on building eventually.

Dustin

Just saw your post on the Buell chopper...yep, sweet bike. It is interesting to know Brad Pitt got it.

Yes, most of my friends think a big-twin chopper with a lot of rake and stretch are the hot ticket, but being a quad cam lover, and wanting something different, the Buell chopper is the way I want to go. I still want my hooligan Buell (and another one equipped for touring), but for cruisin' I want a Buell chopper.

Thanks again for the interesting feedback...I just may have to do business with those folks in Kansas for a frame when I am back Stateside.
