Hey guys, Just got my Jardine exhaust today. The instructions says "Remove the stock muffler and all bracketry". Ummm, this is probably a stupid question but does that mean the curved metal pieces that the metal straps went around (above the exhaust) have to be unbolted from the engine as well? Maybe all this will become apparent once I actually start installing the new exhaust but I'm sitting here reading the instructions in front of my computer so I figured I'd ask you guys.  All of my brackets are black steel, so I got the new improved version of the mounting kit. ALso, it says to remove the sidestand and install a bracket using the mounting bolt. Umm, how do you keep the bike from falling over when you do this?  I guess I can lean it against my car or something, but I don't have a Pitbull or anything. Thanks! | ||

Yes you have to remove it and you will have to remove the oil lines at the swingarm end. You could use tie-downs or rope to hold the bike up. xbolt12 | ||

Hey thats a great pic, why doesn't Jardine supply that kinda pic with the installation instructions? Might be nice to see how it's supposed to look when it's done, and done properly. Keep yer knees in the breeze!  | ||

I have the Jardine as well , but purchased the front stand from custom crome through my local harley dealer. Well worth it if you are going to tear down the bike. Yes if all 3 brackets are black you received the upgraded version. | ||

DTrain, you can slap a chunk of metal (I use rebar) or pipe through the center of the hollow back axle and put the bike upright on two $9 jackstands. Thats how I do it. Cheap, easy, and solid as a rock (so long as you are not removing the back wheel). Just remember to remove the rebar when you are done. Otherwise you are "scraping pegs" much sooner then expected  (been there, done that, twice) |
