Hmm, I've been speaking to people who are doing tyre tests in January and are 'Very close' to the factory race shop. As far as I know both Hal's and Kosco will be out there again in FX and F-USA |

I have an idea.... How about a HARLEY sponsorship? Anyone else think it may be bad for Buell that they seem to have put a bean counter in charge of Harley? |

Let Me get this straight...No Buell's in The FX class this year? That is Bull. I would think HD would jump at the chance to be involved in the 200 this year. Makes Me think Buell motorcycle CO is hurting in more ways than we know... |

How about Badweb sponsorship for one of the FX teams? Hal's or Kosco, it doesn't matter which. Don't know how many members there are but a few bucks each towards getting the name on a bike at Daytona would be pretty cool, even if it was a one off. |

If you know nothing, tis better to remain silent and leave the masses wondering rather than to make a public spectacle of yourself. Explain to me, oh wise one, what the ways you think Buell is hurting? You can't deliver a shirt, yet you take Buell to task for not spending several MILLION dollars of "fun money" (racing returns very little revenue, don't let anyone fool you) to go play. This oughta be good.... Court |

Makes Me think Buell motorcycle CO is hurting in more ways than we know... Must be the fact that Buell just had the best year ever. That got me wondering about their business practices as well. |

Daytona is a very fast track and not too technical. I think the XB`s would get smoked there and the teams know it. So better to skip it. |

>>>>I think the XB`s would get smoked there and the teams know it. So better to skip it. Then you'd be riding in the same boat as the Hayabusa rider at Bonneville who pulled along side the Buell and, sportin' a smart- grin said . . . . "I just did a 189, what'd that Buell do?". When Richard replied "206, but we're gonna try for more", the guy just eased away. These was a time when the Buells stood no chance at Daytona. There was a time Buells had tube frames. Both are now history. Court |

Top speed on the FX Buells at the end of last season was just 1mph slower than the works Hondas of DuHamel and BB. With the work that has gone on over the winter they should be closer still. Provided the reliability is there I think it will be closer than a lot of people think. |

This oughta be good.... Court Number 1, I was just the middle man for the Shirts and airbox decals. As far as I knew, everyone was 100% happy and taken care of. The Bad web post about both were all very positive. So don't go spouting off about Me not taking care of business. As far as Buell not racing, it's sort of mute now, It seems that they are. If they don't, it would seem to me, that would = a big problem. Being an American motorcycle, who did very well last year, racing in AMERICA, not being able to get sponsor ship would be all but sad. WHY will HD not step up? Are they going road racing soon? It's only logical, to get more sport riders on Buells, would be easy... Race on Sunday = Buy on Monday. I don't pretend to know all, I thought this is what this board is about...disscusion. (Message edited by gonen60 on December 22, 2004) |

Daytona has a BIG assed high speed corner yes? Why the ____ do so few people understand the power of handling? Porsche BUILT THEIR NAME on it. You really think a small boxer engine is the most advanced engine on the track when a Porch is setting the fast laps? Do you know what is generally on the very top of a racers list when asked about what they would like to improve with their vehicle? It's almost ALWAYS handling. Take a guess what's generally at the bottom? Ferrari's F2000-F2004... Did they have the most HP? No (Williams BMW did for 2000-2002, Toyota does now). Do they have the best handling chassis? Yes. |

>>>How about Badweb sponsorship for one of the FX teams? Late to the gate; in the works. Meeting the first week of January and suggestions are most welcome. In broad general terms, looking for a firm that can afford to spend about $1.5 on advertising. WHY will HD not step up? - who knows, who cares. This is a Buell racing discussion. Harley-Davidson gave it a shot and proved that unless done right (and a 47 minute pit stop to change a tire is not right) you are better off not to do it. Are they going road racing soon? - Harley-Davidson won't be until the bloody nose heals. If I can effect it in any way Buell will be. I'm very upbeat. When the challenge came declaring Buells hopelessly incapable of challenging either Moto Guzzi or BMW on the Salt no one ever dreamt that Team Elves would be described as "the most organized team to ever arrive at Bonneville" and that a scant 3 years later, over half the 150 Club would be Buells. I've lost count of the Land Speed Records broken by Buells. Race on Sunday = Buy on Monday. Like General Custer yelling "Charge" at Little Big Horn, it sounds better in theory than it works in practice. Sales and racing success are not unrelated. Racing success will not, however, sustain, revive or ressurect a company. Think, dear friends, of racing a the frosting on the cake. I type this having just, during lunch, driven past the Ducati "Flagship" store that has been converted to a deli. Racing ismore fun than it is a business strategy. I don't pretend to know all, I thought this is what this board is about...disscusion. You are correct. When you tossed the unsupported "sky is falling" ball into the court, you granted me license to rebut it with a similar lack of civility in my tone. Court P.S. - the shirts may have been a cheap shot. If without merit, I apologize. call me sensitive lately. |

YEA BABY!!! The days are ticking down..... And as far as the XB's, just look at the Formula USA series that run at Daytona the first part of Bikeweek... Ah my fix of Buells thundering around the banking, (maybe stealthy this year?)...oooh I can't wait! And BadS1 our front window looks at the east banking and you wake up to the sounds of bikes on the banking at 8 am, aahh Daytona... |
