Maybe I'm way off but more than a few of the post's on this board end up way out in left field.I log on every day looking for something new and useful and more often than not I scroll down and someone is either up on a soapbox or has there nose out of whack for next to nothing.I actually would like to post more often but I fear I'll just get flamed by some know it all who will nit pick my post until he finds something to get all gung ho about and then go off about nothing or how some math equation is of a decimal place and then they really go off and on and on....... It hasn't actually happened to me but I feel sorry for the people that are trying to have a normal discussion without some person making it there days goal to belittle a post just because they have no life of there own. Just my opinion.... No need to reply. |

As long as each side has a valid point of view, I say let it go on. Speak up if you have a an idea and let your thoughts be heard, no need keep quiet because you might not have the popular opinion. |

What, do you think just because we all love our Buells and because this all takes place in cyber-space, that people on a whole would get along better? Nothing wrong with good natured conversation, but one problem is, it's sometimes hard to understand the tone of someones post. On top of that, it's just the way some folks are...Ugly acting. |

I have just attributed all the bickering lately to the fact that a large percentage of badwebber's are not able to ride as much as they would like to or, for some, not even at all. However, a few months ago there were a bunch of discussions on the board that I personally thought would have scared away many newcomers to badweb. I had contemplated posting my remarks, but when I was about to it seemed that the board was back to a less billigerent mindset. Being Buell owners, by definition per se we are different, and therefore think differently. A big reason for a lot of bantering may be that even though we are 'different', a lot of us are so much alike. Actually, with so many 'different thinkers' gathering in one area, I am amazed most times by how well the discussions go on badweb. 1313 |

Ive always contributed the arguing to someone that thinks that because they ride a buell, they are in some sort of elite status. I dont really care. I love my bike and will for the next 2 years until i get a new bike. I simply want a faster bike. I enjoy the nimbleness of it but i dont have the roads that some of you do. |

NOT !!! Just a friendly exchange of concepts. Some may be more palatable than others, but still a nice place to play Buell. |

I once accused Blake of being argumentative, but he told me he was only speaking enjuneereze and that was just normal for them. Some other enjuneer agreed so I took that as a sign that I must be overly sensitive. (A week later they were at it again.) So now when I read some zinging post I just say, "must be an enjuneer!" All in all, we have had some problems, they were removed, and the general tone of this place has always been very civil compared to any other web domain I have seen (I don't go to the poets corner). Thanx Blake for making this a comfortable place to sit and read Bu(e)ll. |

Instead of gossipy commentary I prefer substantive content. But hey, that's just me. I'm one who subscribes to the idea that if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. HP=T*RPM/5252 Contact Patch Area = Axle Loading/Tire Pressure fDRAG = CDA*V2*r/2 Peak Speed (VMAX) is reached when fDRAG=RWHP*375/V with drag in LBs and velocity in MPH. For instance if I know that my Cyclone produces 100 RWHP and will reach a peak speed of 140 mph at the engine speed (RPM) corresponding to peak HP, I can calculate the aerodynamic drag as follows... fDRAG=375*RWHP/V fDRAG=375*100RWHP/140MPH fDRAG=268 LBs Then knowing drag we can then deduce the CDA of motorcycle with rider as follows... CDA=2*fDRAG/(V2*r) which for standard temperature and pressure (STP) conditions reduces to... CDA=fDRAG/(V2*0.00256) CDA=268/(1402*0.00256) CDA=5.34 Who needs wind tunnels.
Dave, You got that story a bit turned around. T'was the other engineer who quelled your concerns, not I. |

I think everyone here must be "good people". Otherwise they wouldn't frequent this small section on the world wide web with such personal fervor. I simply don't see the need for the sarcastic jerky comments some people make when posts are made that they feel are from easy prey. But then again, it gets my blood flowing at times. It takes all kinds, I guess. I just feel that negativity towards the new guys who are simply asking questions degrades the brand we admire, as well as ourselves. I'm also very drunk right now after a night of partying. We just got engaged! My new fiance is dead asleep. What in the hell am I doing writing on a silly board at 5:47am?!?!?!? |

DAGO!!! Way to go, man! I knew you could do it! Sounded to me like, since you've been dating Lilianna (sp?) for 3 years now, you already have the communication-thingy down. You and I have very strong women. Now, as we spoke last weekend, figure out a way to stay married for 25 years (like me) and you can brag all you want! Just like posting on these boards, you have to choose your words wisely and have a thick skin for when others don't understand or agree with you. |

Great advice, Chris. Thanks for that. Believe me, trip... I know I how lucky I got. I also take comfort that you don't find me attractive. "Not that there's anything wrong with that." <Seinfeld reference> And thanks to everyone else BUT Court. I can't believe you posted that pic here. jk Merry Christmas! |
