At least 3 topics now where you have asked opinions on either the 650 Daytona or the 955 now. Whats up? |

Like everyone has said before. Go ride them, if you like it better than the Buell, then buy it. They are nice bikes, but being we are a Buell forum, we are not likely to discuss much about the bike. |

I sold my Daytona to buy a xb9s. They cant be compared, the Triumph was an extremely rapid bike but it never made me laugh the way the Buell does. When I took a Buell for a test ride I knew I had to have one within 20 seconds of setting out. |

Just so you know. I am a tech in a dealership that sells Triumphs, and I think they are terrible bikes. They have many problems and are very slow. I ride a Buell XB9S and love japanese bikes too. Triumphs do not compare in my mind. The only good bikes they build are the classic line (ie Bonneville, Thunderbird). Hope that helps. |

Slower compared to what? They are faster than a Buell.Every thing I have read about them have been good. |

Did a non official survey here in DAYTONA today, found 955 people who thought it was kinda ballsy of Triumph to name a foreign made motorcycle after our home town anyway. Our conclusion........WE don't like it! |

I've always liked the Daytona 955I, hell of a motor & anyone who claims they are slow is mis informed. This poster hangs on the ceiling above my computer

Dyna, have you ever ridden one of them. They are very slow until you drop 2 teeth on the front sprocket. I am comparing them to any other liter bike on the market. They also don't handle as well. I ride an xb9s and it is slow also, but what it lacks in speed it totally makes up in handling. Also, every triumph Daytona or any other fuel injected model we sold ended up spraying fuel all over the place until we replaced the fuel connectors with the metal ones. I have just seen too many problems with Triumphs (yes similar to the older Buells) to ever own one. And seriously, they are not fast. |

You cant compare any bike to the litre bikes. I have ridden the 955 & for its size its damn fast. |

I was at Orlando Harley a few months after I bought my XB and they had a used 955,made me want to trade my bike in.If I could get my wife to take my bike,I would buy a 955,or a Ducati 800ss |

Actually ,I was told it was traded in on a Harley, not a Buell.Do you believe their are ppl who would rather have a different bike than a Buell, who would have ever thunk it? |

Actually the other day I found myself doing something odd.I was at the dealership getting a gift certificate for wifes dad and there was this guy looking at the city-x in the dark corner of the dealership. Several 5-7 minutes passed nobody helped him?!I guess they were too busy helping all the tougher guys into Road Kings aand Fatboys.Well anyway I went up to him and told him how much I liked mine and told him he would absolutely love a buell. He ended up asking me questions about the Buells for a good 10-15 mins...(Great ,he was interested.)Well I ended up leaving and before I left he said he wanted to test it out first and if he liked it he would probably get it!I felt like a Buell salesman in there.I was hoping to get some commission for doing their job.Naw,I dont want any.I would just be happy knowing someone else out there has got this ear to ear grin on their face EVERY time they rode their bike also. |

Buell had a promotion going last spring, during which they gave out a nifty backpack/shoulder bag. they had a bunch of the bags, but no demo bike at the local dealer. so we stopped by on the way to somewhere, and i gave 3 demo rides on my own XB12, and sent the "test riders " in for their free Buell bags. they gave out the bags. that dealer will no longer be selling Buells after the end of the year. |
