I was wandering how much needs to be changed over on the front end of a S to a R model? Triple trees? I am asking so I can start looking for all the tools I might need in the swap. Thanks Brupska |

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/89198.html?1103253058 The parts list is there. As for tools you need basic handtools and a #27 Torx bit for the couple of Torx screws. The Security Torxbit available from American Sport Bike for the ignition switch bolts so you don't have to order more, this way you can use the ones off the "S" model. I am not certain if the wiring harness connection for the ignition switch comes WITH the switch or not you will have to ask someone else about that. BRake bleeding system for the front brake when you change the hose, the stock "S" hose is too long. Teflon tape for the brake fittings and bleed screw. Do this, it will keep the fittings from leaking air later, or while bleeding the lines. You will need to make spacers the thickness of the ECM bolt points for the headlight brackets since on the "R" the headlight bracket attaches with the same bolts as the ECM. I beleive something else you need to add to the list of parts that I forgot were the Torx bolts used but I can't remember how many off hand. Windscreen bolts will also need to be gotten. |
