I have a yellow XB9S and was thinking of getting the wheels colour coded. Has anyone done this? If so pics please. Also are the polished rims lacquered? I find them hard to clean but I would like to keep the polished rims and I think that they might be hard to clean because they are lacquered. My girlfriends bike has polished rims which I had polished and I find them easy to clean so I don't understand what the difference is with the Buell. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Norrie. |

No on the lacquer. Powder Coating is the way to go. Just about any color. Won't chip like paint. The paint will chip, and changing out tires will wear on the paint. When Powder coating you have to take bearing out and install new ones. Cost for Powder coating about 60 to 80 a rim without no prep-work like striping off paint or clearcoat-lacquer. Then get a price on bearing 'SET' and labor for pressing out and installing new bearings. |

Norrie.....I polished my XB9S rims with Mothers Aluminum and Chrome polish. Easy and they really shine. It is a paste and in a small red and white container. |

Simichrome. No fuss and a brilliant shine. "Wax on, Wax off" <-- it's a pink paste, so it almost qualifies... Chris |
