Anyone know what the windscreen on the 9R is made from? I am thinking it could be LexanŽ but not sure. I spilt petrol on mine at the pump and now it is white. I've tried Meguires PlastX with very limited results in the shade but it is still there in the sunlight. More Elbow grease? Or new product? |

Might I ask how that happened? Sorry, just curious. I would suggest getting a new one, not worth your labor. They do make a double bubble design, not sure who, someone mentioned it on another active thread. |

Don't know the answer (I have an S) but just an FYI.... Lexan is GE's brand name for polycarbonate plastic. Hyzod is another brand. Plexiglas and Lucite are brand names for acrylic plastic. You could try Plexus brand plastic cleaner. (Message edited by signguy on December 16, 2004) |

I use the S100 finish restorer. Can find it at you HD store. Works on restoring my 9SX airbox cover. Thus far it's fixed it 100%. |

If you have spilled unleaded fuel on the screen then it is beyond repair I would suggest For the price of a replacement screen from someone like Zero Gravity or Ermax it wouldn't be worth the effort of trying to restore the original anyway. Also by changing to a 'double bubble' you'll probably find it more comfortable at speed.

Novus 3 followed by Novus 2 with a lot of elbow grease in between, and a closing shot of Harley Sealer Glaze cleaned up the parts of my 9sx airbox (that I can get at) to a near perfect finish. It seems like it takes forever, but in reality it is not that bad. Have not tried the S100 restorer, don't know if that is better or worse then the novus. |

The Novus and Harley glaze procedure posted by Reepicheep along with a LOT of elbow grease should restore the windshield to better than new condition, at least it does on gold tone ones. Don't ask me how I know. |
