Roadsurfr, Great I thought I was the only one! My Buell is the only one I have seen in New Orleans. Hopefully Buell will become like a virus here and spread throughout the rest of the area like wildfire. How has your dealings with HD Baton Rouge gone? I have found their service department to be top notch so far. Do you ever make it to bike night at the Pit Stop? I stop there sometimes but I would rather be riding then standing around all night. Dale I couldn't agree more. I hope I have picked wisely. I couldn't spring for the electric coat but was able to pick up the gloves and socks. It was either the coat and chaps or the new scorpions, I felt the tires to be more important. With my tank bag and the rest of my gear I've never really gotten cold around my upper body and legs. It was always my hands and feet that would become unbearable at times. Art |

Art, I work evenings that's why I can't post often. I usually ride mornings and weekends. BR Buell has been great. They have a race-bike. Like you, I'd rather ride. There is a black Buell parked on Decatur St. in the French Quarter 1200 blk. That bike inspired me to look in Buell, after 9/11. Ever since I heard about Buell in the early 80s,I thought they would be out of my price range. Now I can't imagine a bike with it's exhaust on the side....... Going for a ride now... later, Butch |

Good luck Big, that's quite an adventure you're off to. This morning in Minnesota we had sleet and iced glazed roads, lots of accidents. Overnight temps for the next few days will be -10. I hope that system breaks up as it heads east to MI so it's not too cold or wet for you. Can't wait to hear how the trip went, RIDE SAFE! |

It was 0 degrees here yesterday morning on my way to work, and there's salt EVERYWHERE (that's my cue - once the salt is out the XB stays in...). I wish you luck, and maybe we'll bump into each other, but you are one crazy mofo! |

Thanks for the offers guys will take you up on them some other time. Have not been home in 3 years so I'm making the most of it with the family. I will tell you guys more about the trip later and my dad has a digital camera. Maybe I can finally post a pic of me and the "precious"! As far as the xb12s, it performed flawlessly and got looks everywhere I stopped for gas. It was real funny the farther I headed North and people would say "little cold tonight for a ride, Isn't it?" thinking I was out for one last joy ride around town. Then they would notice my Buell was packed for the long haul and jaws hit the ground when they saw the Louisiana plate on the cheese grader! I'd give them my best evil grin and throw on my helmet with ACDC pumping out my earphones. Then haulin back out to the highway laughing myself silly and freezing my butt off but having to much fun to care! I put my rear pegs back on for this trip wrapping them up with foam and electrical tape. I would move back as far back in my seat as I could laying my head, chest on my tank bag and resting my shins on the rear peg superman style. Worked great for this long haul! Talk to ya later. Will try to post a pic soon. Never done it before though. I'll figure it out. art Oh yea and for my fellow Detroit guys. I flew the stars and stripes off the back of my bike on the way here. I will be adding the flag with the big wheel that has wings for the ride home next week. You know the one (Message edited by bigeasy on December 23, 2004) |
