I fitted a Remus/Sebring exhaust to my xb9r it's also got the snorkle removed,K+N filter and XB12 airbox lid and the standard ECM. If I run it with the baffles out it's fast and very LOUD!! With the baffles in its just loud but runs lean below 5500 and there is a huge hole in the torque and power band from 3000 to 5500. Will a race ECM and/or Techlusion box make things better? Should I leave the baffles out and move to a new neighbourhood/City every 3 months?? |

Depends on how much you like the whole in your power band |

Surveyor, the Techlusion should fix your leaness for the most part and maybe some of your hole. I would say run it with the stock ECM first and then MAYBE go to the race if it still doesn't wok for you. I know some people have had a few small problems with the race ECM and the Tech Box....I'm happy with it so far on my 12.....Later, Odie |

Hi Surveyor, there are different Baffels for the Sebring. 1. when you have the (old) 23mm Baffles the exhaust is a desaster. Tell the dealer he shall upgrade the exhaust on the actueil standard. He shall sent you the baffles with bigger inner diameter (over 30mm) if you dont have them now. We developed own baffles, who have full flow and also noisereduction as well, because we know that problem. You are also right in your feeling that without baffles this is a very good raceexhaust but much too loud for the neighbours (-: 2. With the TFI we found, special at exhausts with torque dips, up to 8 Nm of tourque more at 3.500 rpm on the Dyno. So the TFI is a good option we think. 3. The Race ECM is, on our point of view, working well with the Racekit. Not more and not less. 4. Also open Air give the system more midrange Torque and also helps to heal exhaust midrange Torqueproblems. Make a test and ride the bike without aircleaner and without airboxtop. (Of course not on dirty roads and not all time. Just for testing -please not again that discussion that this could badly damage the engine etc.) You will find out that the Torquehole is less. If you like to use the FAST System, other solutions or if you cheese your airbox is your descission. The combination unrestricted air, TFI and Sebring with big baffles is going very well you will find out. Regards Jens www.hillbilly-motors.com |

Thanks for the thoughts everyone - except static! One last question, since fitting the pipe I have a significant overun on a closed throttle....I shut the throttle and there is a delay before the engine responds....is this a TPS problem and how easy is it to adjust? |

Surveyor, did you check and see if you had the smaller baffles??? How do you like the pipe, sound and power wise??? Kevin |

Kevin, I didn't know there were two sizes until I posted this thread and I haven't checked yet. The power is good but in the wrong place (above 5500)but the hole in the power and torque bands below 5500 is bad. The pipe is too noisy without baffles but nice with them. It talks the talk but so far it's not walking the walk! I think it is probably best suited to the track. |
