As the title says if your Buell is acting funny, before you go thru the troubleshooting rabbit hole, disconnect the BAS and see if the bike starts. In my case, the bike was acting funny, surging and not holding a steady throttle, having starting issues, and yesterday I could not get it to even turn over. I cycled the kill switch and it would try to start but not finish and this was my clue. So I looked in the service manual and it mentioned cycling the kill switch to check the BAS operation so I figured it was worth a shot to disconnect it. So this afternoon I disconnected the bank angle sensor (BAS) and the bike started like normal but showed a check engine light. Progress. Just to to double check I plugged the BAS and again the bike would not turn over. BAS failure confirmed. So I disconnected the BAS again and used ECM droid to mask the missing BAS from tripping the check engine light. Starts right up, no check engine light. Worth a shot before you tear the bike apart. |

I'm having a similar issue. This has me thinking to go test mine. Thanks for posting this! |
