Well guys/girls... it has been a LONG time since I have been on here.

I have gone through about 5 Buells... S1 twin tail and a standard... S3...S3t... X1 and a Firebolt... The Firebolt was my last Buell back in about 2009...

I have just made contact with someone selling a 2007 XB12 with about 7K miles. Seems to be in very decent condition besides needing a good cleaning.

I will keep you all informed. I have been missing riding... and really missing the sound of the twin.

My 12R has been sitting over a year needing work. Picked up a Honda VFR for daily use but it's not the same.

In about 8 months, I can start telling the "I used to own a VFR back in the day" story... or at least thats what Shoggin tells me.

I'm currently working on rebuilding a S1 and a Scg.

Of course Honda is not the same, you don't need to worry about getting stranded in the middle of nowhere, Honda just works.

yet, you still ride a Buell...

I guess this is where the old "I'd rather push my Ford than drive a Chevy" bumper stickers came from.

I went on a trail ride with a couple of guys last year. Two of us on Kawasaki and one on Honda. The Honda didn't "just work". It wouldn't "just stay running". The guy wound up sitting back at the staging area while we finished out the day riding.

The only Honda I find even close to a Buell is the RC51 SP2. Those sound amazing. Never rode one but I here they are really nice handling bikes. I would love to have one in the garage next to my Uly.

The Super Hawk is the next closest thing to the RC51. I had a chance to buy one new in 04, but sprung for the R6. Ooooff!

The 2014 VFRs were being closed-out at like 4k under MSRP. It's always been on my list of "If I had to replace my bike today..." It's a great sport-tourer/daily commuter and the VTEC at 7k rpm is delectable BUT it's longer and heavier than the XB12R and looks like just another red sport bike to the uninitiated.

I was interested in the Super Hawk, but it was supposed to get bad gas mileage.

Over 6277 miles my 2004 XB12R with K&N, Buell race muffler, and matching ECM averaged 48.7mpg. The 2014 bone-stock Interceptor has averaged 45.7mpg over 5820 miles, but the V4 is a pretty old engine. Fuelly.com shows 36 for the Super Hawks, so not great by comparison.

Mm128 what have you been riding since 2009?

I have had a few more Buells and a Road King..

The Buell I am currently STILL looking at and going to see on Thursday is a XB12 ULY. with under 7K miles. Seems to be dirty but WELL kept mechanically.
