Does anyone know if ANYONE makes a right side air scoop that would match the larger one on the left? I think this would look much more balanced and of course, keep the back cyclinder a bit cooler Might keep the dreaded fan off! The hitch is that I DON'T want carbon fiber, just black plastic as on the other side. Any thoughts? Thanks | ||

BruceLee the best way to match it is... To get rid of the one u got now open your outer/air box cover up as I did and no need for any scoops Unless you want some Ice Cream... | ||

Bruce, last I heard Al at American Sport Bike is looking into trying to get them in fiberglass. I don't think anybody makes it in plastic. The Trojan one is the only one I've heard of for now and its in carbon. In any case you'll have to paint it to match if thats what you want. | ||

We have them in glassfibre or in carbon and can of course ship to the US  Price is £165 (Approx US$300) in carbon.   | ||

Well, Blake is right  in that I can afford it but I get cheaper as I get older. Moreover, it is so nice, it creates an appearance issue for the other side, ie that is just plain crummy plastic. So, then I have to replace that one..... You get the picture! As much as a capitalist as I am, I do wince as some of the prices for XB accessories. I do get the economics, but still, I think a $100 is what I would pay for a plastic air scoop. Then, I would likely paint both of them silver and I would be so there! Re: the post above about taking them both off, I thought about it, took them off to see and then put them back on. Fact is, I see the cooling as needed back in the rear cylinder AND I see the ram air as essential for engine performance. Am I off base here. Question for the engineers here on this site. BTW-I just bought a Porsche discussion forum site and am going to my be own version of BLAKE! Wish me luck! There will be no political threads on that site, as I am not willing to •••• off my potential customers (I trade Porsches for a living!).  Thanks all! | ||

Headlights cost £251 (US$470 approx) to customers outside Europe (no tax) and the two brackets to attach to the forks are £34 a pair (US$64). They fit straight onto the S models in place of the original lights and are a huge improvement. The lamps come in either polished aluminium or as shown here with anodised black casings.  | ||

ouch! But they look so good I just may have to fork it over! I will have to wait after mardi gras here in new orleans. I always have a good wad of cash to spend after working through that hell and I like to reward myself afterward. 7 doubles in a row. I dont even go home me and the guys built bunk beds in the back and installed a small shower, play station, tv and our very own beer tap!  I shall call you after the storm is over. Art, American Sport Bike now has the MIG lights as well. $399.95 in either polished or black, $79.95 for the mounting brackets. See here. I just installed them on the shop XB9s, pretty easy install, overall. Toughest part is a little bit of harnessing work, and even that's pretty trivial. The kit includes the connectors to mate to the lights, but you have to cut the connector off the stock headlights if you want to make it removable from the bike harness the same way the stock headligh modules are and NOT cut the connector off the bike harness. They're nice and bright, but they are a little bit more of a spotlight than a floodlight. They do look very cool on the XB-S models! I'llhave a picture up on our web site on the shop XB9S soon, but I noticed JVV's picture of the shop XB up at the A.B.S.N. meeting on Monday has a nice shot here Al (Message edited by al_lighton on December 08, 2004) | ||

Oh, and I am working on the right side scoop. Once tooled, I can make them as easy in prepreg fiberglass as CF, but plastic won't be available. I've just started the tooling work, though, and don't have firm pricing data at this time. But it will be exceedingly similar to the left hand one that we already have that is $259.95 in CF, so I'd bet that pricing for the right side scoop will be in the neighborhood of $279.95 for CF, a little cheaper for paintable fiberglass.
