So I keep getting an engine code 21, thought I'd finally fix it and started by checking all my fuses. All good, but I unplugged every fuse just to check them and now anytime I pull in my clutch the neutral light comes on and it will not start unless the clutch is pulled in. While nothing is mechanically wrong it is kinda annoying. Any advice? |

Sounds like you put the isolation diode in the opposite way to what it was. The function of this is to allow the clutch switch or the neutral switch to provide a ground for the start relay. The 'fuse' that has a diode marking (similar to this -|<- ) needs to be put in 180 degrees from how it is. BTW - code 21 is related to the active muffler control unit located under the airbox cover. Do a search on the forum and you will find many posts related to this. |

I ALWAYS...disconnect my clutch switch. I don't want any sudden engine stoppage, and having my hands full in trying to get it started again in a hurry, with my hand not on the left side grip, for whatever reason. Just hit the starter switch, and drive off. No messing with the clutch. Every bike I've ever owned. Mike |

Switched the diodes and did the trick. Thanks Rays, I know what the code means for 21 I just one fix was a blown fuse so thoughts I start with the simplest fix. While no blown fuses I did find out the fan fuse has a 25 amp when it doesn’t need it so that’ll be fixed. 1_mike, I feel dumb but what’s a clutch switch? (Don’t judge me to harshly lol) |
