Does anyone have a source for nylon washers that will fit the shoulder bolts for the chin fairings? |

I read mixed opinions if the chin fairing bolts are supposed to have nylon washers. When I took mine off only two bolts had them. |

My local hardware store has them. Real hardware, not big box. |

The '06 Ulysses shows them as being fitted on the shoulder screws in the parts manual - Buell part number BA0509.6. |

Does anyone have a link to some nylon washers that I could purchase online (eBay, Amazon, etc.) I would rather not have to rummage around a hardware store right now for health reasons. |

These would have to go pretty close: https://www.mcmaster.com/standard-washers/washers- 4/washers-5/material~plastic/color~off-white/id~0- 328-/ I just measured a couple of used ones and they are a bit egg shaped but the ID is between 0.330 and 0.338", OD 0.555 - 0.560"and thickness 0.030-0.032" so very close to the McMaster ones. Not sure how hot the brackets get but I'm guessing these would cope. They would also be a simple 3D print project if you know someone with a 3D printer? (Message edited by Rays on April 09, 2020) |

Leadenwinter - Thanks for the link. Which is the correct size to order? Based on the measurements Rays provided I don't see a really close match. |

M6 is the correct size. 0.25" = 6mm |

Since the nylon washers go over the shoulder of the bolt, not the 0.25" threads, I would get M8 (0.31"). That is closer to Rays measurements of the washers |

I decided to just order the McMaster Carr part. I measured one of the bolts and they seem like they will be a good fit. |

I've used an old plastic container and a punch. Works just as well and you can make them for "free." |

The McMaster Carr part number above was a perfect fit! |

I managed to get a selection of 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10mm which are roughly equivalent to 4mm = 5/32 inch (= a bit over 1/8 inch) 5mm = just over 3/16 inch. 6mm = almost 1/4 inch. 8mm 5/16 and 10 mm 3/8 |
