Man,I just have to vent a little,Just got jardine installed on 12 and I am pumped.It's about midnite and raining here in Ohio But I couldnt resist,I took it out.Didnt flogon it but this thing sounds mean, well,I think it does anyway,louder than expected.It's fairly quiet if you keep revs down but open er up and its a different ball game.Couldnt be happier for a few hundred bucks.As far as performance,dont know yet,dont really care.If riding her still puts a big Shi# eatin grin on my face....I'm keepin it on. | ||

I got my Jardine from Daves last week. I love it. It has a really great note. I'll dyno it in March when I go to Bike Week in Daytona. Woohooooooo! Steve-O | ||

The bang-for-the-buck-o-meter is off the scale for the Jardine. I love mine and the rubber necking I get with this thing. I used to get people looking when then saw the Buell but I also get it when the HEAR it! | ||

Quick ? for other jardine havers.Where exactly or whick way did you position oil lines under motor?The instructions say you will have to take one off,but it doesnt say which one or what to do with it after that.I only have a isssue with the middle line.It is kinda rubbin on the exhaust bracket.I know that cant be good long term.I only rode it around block so I have all winter to get those lines situated.I hope someone can help me out here.Do I loosen the line and run them on the right upper side of muffler or what.What did you all do? | ||

I had to remove all 3 oil lines in order to remove the stock crescent shaped mounting bracket under the motor. No doubt you had to do that as well. I haven't checked to see if they rubbing or if there is a problem lately but if there is I would simply loosen and reposition the line, eh. I just checked and they are not rubbing against the bracket. I have the 2 fat lines to left of the bracket and the skinny 1 on the right (brake) side. Hope this helps. Steve-O | ||

i cut a section about the size of the oil line out of the stock bracket slipped it right off did not remove lines, i did save the part i cut out just in case. | ||

BTW, not sure if it's been mentioned, but the Jardines shipping now come with the new and improved brackets. The old ones were cantilevered, and some broke. Some didn't. In fact, I know of some bikes that have the original aluminum brackets with no issues. The new steel brackets have an additional bolt point at the ends of both the left and right side brackets. The brackets are a little industrial looking, but they're mostly hidden anyway. I think the fix should hold up on all but the most exhaust hungry XB's. I got a bunch of the new brackets and have retrofitted all the TI and CF Jardine mufflers we have in stock. The Aluminum ones fly out of stock too fast to have retrofit any, all the recent shipments of Aluminum mufflers came from the factory with the new brackets. Al | ||

GoTo the Hillbilly website, look for the exhausts page. Here's another tip, the page is in German, so use babel fish to translate the entire website, heaps faster... | ||

thanks trench that helped alot especilly the babel fish site. I always wanted to dig around on the hillbilly site but couldnt read german so i didnt know what was going on on there now i can. The jardine according to them seems to be a pretty good exaust. At least it looks like it as long as u dont put that silencer on it (but honestly who in there right mind would do that). | ||

On the oil line positioning, I would consider it critical as the lines will move some under swingarm compression and you certainly do not want to wear a hole in an oil line right next to your rear tire. I was able to position mine so they don't touch and are still within the positioning specs from the service manual. I do think that Jardine should have relieved the bracket for more clearance though and I will probably do it with a Dremel tool next time I have the muffler off the bike. I am also checking the line before each ride at this point. xbolt12 |
