I designed and built similar flanges for 2008-2010 Buell XB and they work flawless. https://www.buellxb.com/forum/showthread.php?53975 -High-performance-intake-manifold-flanges-for-2008 -2010-Buell-XB Those style flanges are easier to install and they seal properly from first try. I put many miles on mine and have no leaking issues since then. I was not able to seal intake with stock flanges and seals after a bunch of tries so I thrown away that poor designed crappy flanges and build my own the proper way. Trust me, you will hate to redo the flanges and tear apart the motorcycle again and again wasting time after you will find they are not sealed properly. (Message edited by Tpehak on July 11, 2019) |

For what it's worth, the "o-ring" is how MOST intake manifolds are sealed on most new cars today. Even up to Top Fuel Dragster/Funny Car intake manifolds, that the engines make about 11,000 hp..! If done correctly, should live a happy long life. Mike |
