So basically i did run self diagnostics and found some error codes 11 13 15 33 44 45 34 37 Following this DDFI CODES DDFI Trouble Codes Code No. Fault Condition 11 Throttle position sensor 13 Oxygen sensor 14 Engine temperature sensor 15 Intake air temperature sensor 16 Battery voltage 21 inter active muffler control 23 Front fuel injector 24 Front ignition coil 25 Rear ignition coil 26,27 clutch and neutral switch 32 Rear fuel injector 33 Fuel pump 34 iac 35 Tachometer 36 fan voltage 37,43 speed sensor 44 Bank angle sensor 45 side stand sensor 46 start relay 47 aux power outlets 52, 53, 54, 55 ECM failure 56 Cam sync failure Previous issues history with bike. 1. Had fuel pump issues, so i had to buy a complete fuel pump, i could get the pump for 2009 xb9sx so i got the 2004 instead. 2. I had the bike parked for more than 6months because i could not get a good mechanic to work on the bike here in Nigeria, Thank God i found this Amazing Forum. The bike was parked is a wet area so i believe the water damaged the sensor. But apart from bad idle when the bike is cold and a backfire sound i keep getting, couple with some funny sound from airbox when reving, The bike starts and run quite okay. What could be possibly wrong, and why getting so many errors. Thanks |

The key here may be the, "parked in a WET area". Is the battery up to full charge ? I'd start with checking ALL...of the grounds. Don't just look at them, remove each and every wire, clean it and what it mounts to with a small wire brush and or Scotch Brite, then put some dielectric grease in the connection and reassemble. If that doesn't work, start pulling "ALL" connectors, starting at the ECM, head light to tail light...to verify that there is no corroded pins/sockets...ANYWHERE. Even if it takes looking into the sockets with a magnifying glass. The starter, the connectors down by the trans. pulley...EVERYWHERE. Mike |

What 1_mike said. And, if you haven't already done so, fresh fuel. As an aside, it MAY be apples and oranges, but on my X-1 I had running issues and a cascade of fault codes. Al from American Sport Bike advised that situation often results from a failing/failed Engine Temp Sensor. Replaced mine, and solved the issue. So, don't know if what applied to my tuber applies to XB's, but if there are issues after having checked the electrical system, it may something to check. Hope this helps, Dave |
