Considering buying a XB12R with 10k miles all stock, original owner. What is a fair price? |

$1500-$9500. I shop around for Buell's quite a bit so I can definitely narrow it down for you if you supply even a modicum of more info... How about post the ad? (Message edited by shoggin on December 21, 2018) |

It's worth what someone will pay for it and how desperate the seller is to move it |

Location, because resale price varies with where you are. But around here, KBB is listing it for trade-in at $3,155 and suggested retail $4,585. NADA lists avg retail at $4,115. Both are without any aftermarket parts. Typically the seller feels that they add whatever he paid for them, but figure on 1/3 to 1/2 of original cost. |

In general, mods reduce value, not increase it. Some accessories like hard luggage can help with the value, but most alternations make a bike harder to sell. A mint condition 2010 would be $4000, maybe $4500. Knock off money for semi permanent mods (basically anything that won't go back to stock in a few minutes), any damage, high mileage, title issues, worn out parts, and so on (which from the sound of it, none of this applies). |

Ok, was hoping it being a 2010 and 1 of 17 midnight black produced would INCREASE value.Bike is located in the northeast. Thank you all for the input |

You keep asking the same questions looking for the answer you want. You don't believe us, KBB, Nada. Huh? You want it to be worth MORE?! No pics, no deets, shady location... this is a weird thread. I'll keep my eye out for your ad for your Midnight Black 2010 XBR in "the northeast" |

In my experience .... scarcity has little or no impact on Buells. That’s as silly as thinking that somebody making 4 or 5 “EBR” units will increase the value. I have one of the rarest of most significant Buells .... historically..... with about a $10k motor and it’s pretty much worthless It’s value lies in the fact that it’d be pretty easy to bring back to life and it would be a hoot to ride. |

It is a common misconception that rarity increases value. Sometimes it does play a role, but the driving factor on the value of a vehicle is desirability. Not many are interested in a Buell so there isn't much demand, hence low value. As supply of bikes dwindle over time due to wrecks, neglect, and such, eventually supply will no longer be greater than demand and value will go up. If a vehicle is historically significant or something like one of a kind, it is more likely to be highly desired and more likely to bring in more money. There just isn't much demand for a 9 year old mass produced motorcycle from a brand that is no longer in production. Merry Xmas to you all. |

Shoggin, I have been very polite asking an opinion on what people think a 2010 xb12r is worth. A few answered, I responded with i was hoping it could be worth more and thank you for the input. What question do i keep asking? I only asked once in my first post. I didnt say i disagreed with KBB or NADA, I simply stated i hoped it would be worth more, I can dream cant i? Or do prohibit that? i do not have any pics, as i stated a friend of mine was selling it and he does not have it listed anywhere just word of mouth. And once again as far as location im in the notheast, i dont see why you need my exact address to give me your opinion on what a bike is worth. I realize NADA does go by region, So northeast should be good enough. Merry Christmas! (Message edited by buell1125craxlrose on December 25, 2018) |

If it helps, I bought a 2009 XB12R back in the late summer from an owner in Long Island. Had about 11k miles on it and looked better in the pictures. Plastics need some cosmetic refreshing but is mechanically sound. I paid $3300 if I remember correctly. Not an investment in the least, but I wanted to pick another one up before they get chewed and spit out over time. Value is in the eye of the beholder. |

I'm in the "north east " as well (pa) if you are buying your friends bike..... You're in luck, cause Buell values are shit right now. If you are selling---hold on to it and enjoy it. There were very recently 2 nice 09 fire bolts (been looking for the 09 cause I like the blacked out forks) with fairly low miles that both went for well under $4k |

Tomahawk, where in PA, I'm in Philly on the county line with Montco/Huntingdon Valley. As an aside, I bought my 2007 Scg, 4200 miles, for $4000 in May 2017 |

I'm just north of Easton (Bangor) but I hang out and ride with a group down in Philly. (Kensington) ..... Definitely not hating on the bike, would love to have the money for another Buell right now. Just picked up an 08 stt for $4k and to be honest I would have paid more. |
