It's been years since I logged onto this site. I still have my Buell, but I don't ride it nearly as much. Although I did get the itch to finally put an exhaust on it to let it breathe and give it some sound. After lots of research, I am leaning towards the Drummer SS because of the performance and sound, but I have a couple of questions that I hope you guys can answer. 1. I have read everything from the Drummer SS being too quiet to being too loud. I don't want an obnoxious exhaust note, but I want something louder and better sounding than stock. Where does the Drummer SS fall? 2. What, if any, are the differences between the EBR and IDS ECMs for the Drummer SS exhaust? |

1 - Drummer is not the loudest, but it is on the louder side. Too loud is subjective, and if you are touring on it, it is in my opinion too loud, and causes a droning in your helmet. For a weekend bike, you are likely fine. It isn't piss off the neighbors loud, but I'd avoid riding in a neighborhood at 3am. 2 - They are identical. IDS is the OEM that has made every Buell ECM, and while EBR was in receivership a few years ago IDS started selling directly to consumers. Programming is the same, the only actual difference is the decal. |

Thanks, Froggy! Your name is definitely one I remember from years ago when I frequented this place. 1. Loud is definitely subjective! I've watched tons of videos on the exhaust, but there really aren't many good ones out there. I don't do long rides on my bike. It is just a weekend toy for me, but I still don't want to get a headache from the exhaust. I don't ride late at night, but my neighbors are ignorant so I don't really care about pissing them off. 2. That's what I gathered, but I didn't know if EBR developed their own map. |

The IDS calibration is direct from Buell, so it's the same either way. There *are* other alternatives to the drummer if you are so inclined to look around. |

Thanks. I've done extensive research on exhaust including yours. Your exhaust sounds nice. I'm not big on the hand fabricated look, but sound and performance is more important. Do you have sound clips? And how do yours compare to the Drummer SS in terms of sound, loudness and performance? Do you have Dyno charts? I will say I couldn't find any ECMs for your exhaust on 2007 XBs. Does anybody offer them? |
