I just finished putting my XB9R back together. It was originally an 03 with a race ECM. It now has a 07 motor. I have done the TPS reset and it idles great. Once I take out out it will accelerate fine and then randomly it will stutter, feels like a misfire. I only get that symptom when i'm above 3k rpm. Battery connection is tight and everything I can see looks good. I'll check the coil to see if it has 0.5 resistance tomorrow. Is there anything else I should look at? |

I figured if it was that it would exhibited in a poor idle. However, i'll look into it. |

I don't think that it caused poor idling for me either, but I did get poor acceleration. It is said that you can check it easily by shooting some wd40 or brake cleaner near the intake seals while it's idling and if sucks any it you will get a bit of rev off of idle. If you use brake cleaner, but sure to clean it off after. The seals do dry up and wear out over time.. |

did you read John Vreede's post in the knowledge vault about proper grounding? He says grounding problems are responsible for 90++% of running issues. |

Good voltage is needed too - an older battery might still start your bike but if the running voltage is low, you'll get misfires from that also. Bugs the hell out me me when I'm dipping into a turn and it happens... |
