Trying to get opinions. I am going to get a new seat for my '09 XB12SS (seat has a tear in it). Being 6'4" I am finding that the stock seat while riding anywhere but the highway puts me a position where my knees are contacting the frame and making it a bit uncomfortable. I was considering getting the stock seat from a XB12STT which appears to be flatter which might let me move back on the seat a bit. Any thoughts?? Thanks Royce | ||

Due to the seat pan design, you can't see it but there isn't much moving back. You sink into it, then there is a bump where it normally becomes the passenger seat. It still may allow you more room, ergonomics are hard to determine online as everyone is built differently. How about 2" drop foot pegs or swapping in the Ulysses footpeg mounts? | ||

Thanks for the info Froggy.. I was unaware that there are 2" drop footpegs or that swapping in Ulysses's footpet mounts could be an option. Are 2" drop pegs a Buell p/n and/or do I have to go aftermarket? Another inch drop from the existing pegs were be nice both on the SS but also on my Firebolt which I already have 1 inch drop pegs (Message edited by roycet4 on September 07, 2018) | ||

I have made several different seats on my STT for the same reason (36" inseam) and settled on 2 I like. One has no ridge behind your tailbone, it's tall, and super soft. Basically a flat seat. My knees fit in the frame perfectly.  The other one I made with a little dip for better flat footing at stop lights.I just leave the flat on on the bike so It's for sale   | ||

FWIW I found it's more the angle of the seat bottom, and not really the ridge/no ridge that gives knee clearance. If it is tilting forward, balls meet tank/ knees meet frame pucks. |
